Emerging research group at @UniOvi_info • Expanding our knowledge on autophagy and autosis in health and disease • @SEFAGIA_ · Tweets by @AlvFdezFdez_PhD
Time to launch the Twitter account of the AU·SIS research group!
We are focused on expanding our knowledge on #autophagy and, specifically, autosis (a unique type of autophagic cell death dependent on the Na+,K+-ATPase pump) in life & disease.
So yes, we love autophagosomes! ⭕️
And finally, Paula Fernández Carcedo, who began the validation of a new molecular marker for autosis research.
Congratulations, and thank you all for your work and enthusiasm!
As the academic year ends, we would like to congratulate the incredible undergraduate students who successfully completed their Bachelor's Theses with us!
First, Ignacio García López, who searched for dysregulated autophagy genes in breast cancer.
Great work, Nacho!
Next, @pjimenez_87 started a new line of research, analyzing the crosstalk between autosis and oxidative stress.
We are excited to share that he will be continuing this work with us for his Master's Thesis!
🎄 Warm wishes from María, Alejandra (the artist behind this beautiful art), Álvaro and all the amazing undergraduate students that are part of @AUSISgroup.
Wishing you all the best! 🙂
What is the best way to end our year? Having scientific discussions with friends! 🙂
Recently, we visited @UniklinikEssen to celebrate the 2nd pBECSIS meeting with @vega_rubin and @SafaLarafa.
We are eager to share all our progress on autosis with you in the future!
⭕ Hoy, primer día, he estado en el IES Número 5 (de Avilés) y el IES Alfonso II (Oviedo) hablando de la autofagia, y desmintiendo sus mitos.
¡Buena forma de comenzar!
#SemanaDeLaCiencia
🏁 This is the end… of both #SEFAGIA2025 and the cells!
Here we have María Guerra (from @AUSISgroup), showing their advances on the characterization of autotic cell death.
I had the pleasure of attending the @SEFAGIA_ meeting (#SEFAGIA2025) last week.
There, we showcased the advancements of our group, @AUSISgroup, in autosis research through a poster presented by Alejandra and a talk given by María.
⭕️ And here we go! The whole @AUSISgroup is on the train to Madrid to attend #SEFAGIA2025.
María (talk) and Alejandra (poster) will provide an update on our projects related to autosis.
(We are still trying to figure out what @AlvFdezFdez_PhD will do, such a useless guy!).
⏰¡Menos de 24 horas para #SEFAGIA2025!
Repasando congresos anteriores: ¡tantas amistades y colaboraciones en estos 12 años!
⏰Countdown to #SEFAGIA2025! It is a good moment to take a look back at our previous meetings. So many friends and collaborations during these 12 years!
Gracias a quienes lo habéis hecho posible.
A quienes habéis colaborado.
A quienes habéis acudido.
A quienes habéis participado.
¡Animaos! 😃
We are back!
And it is our pleasure to welcome another student from the Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology: Mariana Álvarez Cuetos, an undergraduate who is full of curiosity and enthusiasm.
Welcome! 😃
And kudos to Alejandra Piedra Macías for her Master's Thesis, which has launched our search for autotic markers.
She will now remain in AU·SIS, where she will continue this project during her PhD!
Congratulations! 🥳
Once again, it is time to congratulate the students who have successfully completed their dissertations with us!
First, Miguel Rodríguez Monjardín was brave enough to conduct a conceptual study on autosis, proposing new hypotheses for his Bachelor’s Thesis.
Well done! 👏
🥼 We continue to stay busy in July!
This month @pjimenez_87, another student from the Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology, has also joined our group. He is becoming familiar with our projects in preparation for working on his dissertation in the upcoming academic year.
Welcome!
☀️ Summer is coming!
👩🔬👨🔬 And with it comes the opportunity to welcome new undergraduate students seeking to complete their summer academic placements with us while gaining firsthand experience in daily research activities.
🥼 In June we are joined by Paula (left), who is studying for a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine, and @victortubau (right), pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology. They will be learning basic molecular biology techniques, and we truly appreciate their curiosity!
Welcome! 🙂
