@MxAlejandraHope Reviewing notes from past therapists the cx basically made no progress on treatment goals. Cx has now met all goals and we’ve now moved onto depth therapy. Crazy what a consistent relationship can do 😅

@DanielPangelina @IwriteOK So we speak with them in day-to-day, easy to understand language that fits their specific humanness. Jargon takes the living element out of language.

@DanielPangelina @IwriteOK I think that’s exactly it. When we enter the room with a client we have to add their humanity back into the conceptualization because they’re humans with complex needs/strategies and not just sets of symptoms

@DanielPangelina @IwriteOK Funny thing is us therapists really only talk like that with other therapists from a conceptualization point of view. We don’t actually talk to clients in psych jargon (at least we shouldn’t be)

@pop_mycology You’re probably right. It just doesn’t make it any easier I reckon. Maybe more so it makes it easier for them to reject at a surface level and not actually articulate their lack of, or rejection of, empathy towards others that often fuels their beliefs

@pop_mycology “Privilege”, as you pointed out, conjures a positive connotation which is why the right’s reaction is usually “but I’m [poor, disabled, etc] and don’t feel very privileged”.

@pop_mycology The language of the left is so poorly thought out sometimes it maddens me. IMO it accounts for a sizable portion of conservative’s negative reactions to leftist ideas.
