He tenderly cups her cheeks like he used to, thumbs caressing her cheekbones as he inhaled for a moment before leaning down and pressing a kiss to her lips, closing his eyes.
A kiss he remembered giving her every night she had to leave him to return to lucifer.
Lilith seems to miss the contact instantly, her brows tucking in confusion as he speaks.
"I'm—I think you have me confused for someone else. I have no memory of you."
A soft chuckle leaves him followed by a sigh, hand moving away from a beautiful being that was never his or could be.
❝ we knew eachother in another lifetime, sweetheart. though you were married to lucifer. ❞
Lilith doesn't shy away from his hand, even if instinct says she should. Her eyes go wide instead, mouth hung slightly open, "You say that so—formally. Like we've met before but we—haven't—have we?"
She tilts her head up at him, eyes wide and a littke starlight glimmer within them, "I want to understand you," she whispers, so gentle, so sincere, "I want to know what has me pulled so tightly toward you..."
There is something innate that's drawing her to him—like her very soul is threaded.
It scares her—
And excites her.
Maybe it just needs... closer observation.
He pauses for a moment and offers the same smile he used to back then, relaxing for a moment,
❝ I’ve missed you too, Lucifer ❞
He rises from his chair and moves to take a seat next to her, adjusting his tie, glasses hiding his gaze.
❝ every day. ❞
Lucifer smiles briefly and summons a bottle of whisky, pouring herself a measure into a proper glass. Silence settles over the room for a moment. She takes a sip before finally breaking it.
“I know this isn't exactly work-related, but... I've missed you.”
She says softly.
❝ why would there be a catch for encouragement. ❞
He asks flatly, sipping at his drink and clearing his throat; even his drink has a hint of rich blood in it.
Levi keeps a safe distance from the other for the moment, eyeing him a little cautiously, a little skeptically. The entity's presence is a bit . . . intimidating, admittedly.
"There a catch?"
