@zsk Re phone repair apprenticeships and “little interest” from the IATE. My company repairs reel to reel tape machines (used before your time in the BBC!) It’s tough trying to find people who want to learn about it and there’s little Govt incentive to help.
@coldwaruk Not entirely correct. All TV channels would have shut down after “N” Hour ( the start of the National -hence N, Radio service of the WTBS) only a select number of AM and FM transmitters, mainly based on, after 1970, the BBC local radio network. Radio 4 LW would have shut down too
All set for (virtual) Dream Toys 2020. Ironically we have more stations after interviews about this Christmas’ top ten toys than ever before. A change for their listeners from Covid, Brexit and all that gloom.
This Friday, the 9th October, I am staging a webinar for Audio UK titled "Complex Audio Recordings". The Audiotrain Bookwhen page: https://t.co/t3pxSHIWcj
I'm delivering another Audio UK webinar: Titled "Complex Audio Recordings".
We'll cover what kit you need, health and safety & dealing with the public. The aim is to equip you with the skills and confidence to deliver this kind of content yourself. https://t.co/t3pxSHIWcj

I'm running a 1-day workshop on recording & production techniques for speech.
We'll cover the basic to the complex, requiring multiple mics. It will be applicable for both audio only & audio-for-video.

@WisewordRadio@ipDTL Mics are M201s - still IMO, the one-size-fits-all, get-out-of-trouble mic for any application. Coobe has been mod'd to allow ISDN (mine is G722 only), USB codec and analogue bal I/O. The latter two signals from a single 9 pin D type on the rear.
All set up for a days down-the-line interviews to radio stations on e-game safety. Using IPDTL with my “second life” ISDN Coobe that I modded with an internal IP Codec.
Ready for a day of Down-The-Line interviews from Dream Toys 2019 - we’ll be letting listeners, to radio stations across the UK, what the top 10 must-have toys are for this season. #DreamToys
At the risk of being flamed for mentioning the C word so early, after the success of last year, AVR has been booked again to provide DTL facilities at Dream Toys 2019. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!! #Dreamtoys
