Excited to be back at @NewcastleMedSch to help with MBBS interviews today. 9 years since I was sitting on the other side of the table, now feeling like I've come full circle!
Mixed feelings about today being my last ever day in a hospital setting. Main worry is about losing the skills I've spent the last 3 years learning, seems a shame to no longer use these...
@WillowDJW Hi, I'm not involved with @chunkncheck any more, someone else has taken it over. I've tagged their page so hopefully someone can help you - looks like the website is down currently.
Pleased to announce that I've officially handed over to @ZainKhanMed today after a very admin-heavy week! Looking forward to seeing @chunkncheck continue to move from strength to strength, and grateful for everything I've learnt in my 4 years as Director.
Looking for a keen medical student (or group of!) to take over my MedEd baby Chunk n Check. Lots of effort from the team went into making all the resources so don't want it to go to waste, but I just don't have time to keep it running and need to step back. Please RT/tag! ๐งต 1/4
Can anyone recommend an accountant who won't charge me an arm and a leg to do my taxes? Need someone who can help with my personal stuff and LTD company, if they specialise in doctors even better. Drop some names/DM me please!
@marinadpol Loads more time to decide - it's a good idea to know if you want to do something surgical, something medical, or GP. Don't need to think about it any more specifically than that just yet ๐
@betweentheSBARs Ahhhh that makes total sense! So when you're pressing on the pulse you're moving it laterally, so when you let go and put the needle in it is more medially???
Sharing my ABG hacks with the F1 tonight.
"It's always more medial than you think"
Seems like a weird tip, but if I miss first time IT IS ALWAYS more medial than I thought...
Please discuss ๐ค
GP training is actually real training. I'm invited into clinic, offered WBPAs nearly daily & consultants prioritise my learning over service provision. Also have weekly, fortnightly AND monthly teaching! I've upskilled more in the last 6w than I did in the last 6m of F2.
@PamelaAmeliaK I think med students tend to have more time, and are making resources for their own revision anyway so seems to make more sense. Not completely closed off to the idea of it being a doctor though, but would need to have enough time available!

4/4 If you're interested, DM me. I learnt so much about MedEd, business, and leadership building this, so would be great to give someone the same opportunities. Chunk n Checkers - if you're reading this, we did good didn't we?! ๐
3/4 At its peak, we had a team of 24 volunteers but as we've all graduated and got busy with our NHS lives, none of us have time to keep it moving forward. Ideally looking for someone new to steer the ship and reignite a new committee, so I can bow out and watch CnC keep growing!
