How long can a community endure silence?
The AWF community did not appear out of nowhere. It was formed because of an idea — an idea championed by @VitalikButerin. People gathered not for profit, but for purpose. They believed in effective altruism. They believed that their contributions could make a measurable difference.
That belief turned into action.
A total of 288 ETH was donated.
Not speculated. Not traded. Donated.
To be clear, the work of EA (Effective Altruism) deserves recognition. Efforts to reduce animal suffering, to allocate resources more efficiently, and to pursue impact at scale — these are meaningful contributions. No one is denying that.
But the issue has never been about intention.
It is about visibility.
When funds move without clear explanation,
when questions are met with silence,
when a community keeps reaching out and hears nothing back —
silence stops being neutral.
It becomes erosion.
Just days ago, another 8.9 ETH was withdrawn from the donation address.
Perhaps there is a valid reason.
Perhaps everything is being used exactly as intended.
But without communication, “perhaps” is all that remains.
And “perhaps” is not enough to sustain trust.
The community is not asking for perfection.
It is not demanding complex reports or institutional-level transparency.
It is asking for something much simpler:
Acknowledgment.
Clarity.
A response.
Because trust, once given, should not disappear into uncertainty.
And there is another layer that cannot be ignored.
The AWF community exists because of @VitalikButerin’s influence. That is a fact.
Which is why, when uncertainty grows, people naturally look back to the source of that influence — not for blame, but for guidance.
Even a small action could change everything:
A confirmation.
A question raised.
A signal that this situation matters.
Right now, the problem is not whether good work is being done.
The problem is that no one can see it.
A community can withstand loss.
It can withstand delays.
But it cannot withstand indefinite ambiguity.
If silence continues, trust will continue to fade.
If uncertainty remains, participation will continue to decline.
And none of this is necessary.
Because the core question is simple:
Where did the trust go, after it was given?
This is not an attack.
It is a request.
And perhaps more importantly —
it is a final test of whether transparency is a value, or just an idea.
AWF turns every trade into on-chain animal welfare support.
From meme culture to real-world kindness.
Every buy. Every sell. Every swap. A trace of kindness for animals.
A meme with a mission: transparent animal welfare funding on Ethereum.
Not just a token. A community-powered donation engine for animals.
Vitalik donated 64 ETH to animal welfare. AWF continues the mission through community-driven giving.

@VitalikButerin In youth, one has dreams and ideals.
In middle age, one achieves great accomplishments.
In later years, one possesses profound virtue and integrity.
A lifetime of dedication has forged brilliance and glory.
A lifetime of unyielding character has earned the respect of all.
@VitalikButerin Please do not forget your founding mission.
A dedicated group of loyal supporters from multiple countries around the world stands firmly behind you and will always support you.
#awf The current situation is even worse than what he described. From what I’ve seen, they care about neither the animals nor the people.
It’s been almost two months since they received 4 million RMB from the community, and there’s been complete silence. This has hurt both the community and the animals that were supposed to be helped.
According to the progress, donations should now be at least $20 million USD. Stop with the condescending talk. Because of your inaction, the money might already be in some people’s pockets. lol

@EffectvAltruism@jeffrsebo AWF represents a profoundly meaningful philanthropic endeavor. It is a community composed of selfless and compassionate individuals from various countries who are deeply committed to public welfare causes. We earnestly hope to gain the support of the foundation.
