On November 7, 2021, 31-year-old Amanda Nicole Martinez returned to Sol de Jalisco restaurant in Temple, Texas, furious because her takeaway soup had apparently been hot enough to melt its plastic lid.

Manager Jannelle Broland said she offered Martinez a refund or replacement, but the argument continued.

Surveillance footage then captured Martinez suddenly throwing the container of spicy soup directly into Broland’s face before leaving the restaurant. Broland said the soup had cooled enough not to seriously burn her, but the spices caused severe eye irritation and a nosebleed.

It is interesting to note that this woman was married off at 15, and sent to her inlaws, where she was then by every indication, put into squalor and used as a brood mare for two decades or more.

There are no feminists running to her defense. No Go Fund Me's. No pink shirts and 🫶🏻. Contrast that with LC, an upper class woman who had it all- WFH hub, nanny, private daycare for kids, nice house, cars, vacations.....they pull out all the stops in defense of her.

More people should ask why that is.
