The SUNY Board of Trustees has named an interim chancellor for NY's public university system.

It's Deborah F. Stanley, president of SUNY Oswego. She'll take over for Jim Malatras (the ex-Cuomo aide who has tendered his resignation) on Jan. 15.

Effective Wednesday, NYS will adopt the CDC's new mask & social distancing guidance for vaccinated people.

Unvaccinated people should continue to wear a mask.

Masks will still be required on public transit, in schools & some communal settings. Private venues may require masks.

NY ON PAUSE was NOT extended to June 6

Yesterday's Executive Order extended the underlying legal authority for the executive order BUT did not change the text of any of the directives in NY ON PAUSE & so the expiration date on May 15 still stands until further notice
