The prize of 300 000 euros was awarded to Afghan Women Skills Development Center. The center is the only remaining shelter for women in Afghanistan, run by Mahbouba Seraj, an advocate and a fighter for Afghan women. Congratulations on a well-deserved recognition!

Afghanistan has faced a devastating natural disaster this past weekend: a 6.3 magnitude earthquake has hit Herat, resulting in over 2100 dead and 10 000 injured. Thousands are buried and missing in the earthquake.
