This isnt a case of “whataboutisms” that usually happen with pro-black movements. This kinda boycott actively hurts other marginalized communities that want representation. I agree with the sentiment of the boycott. We need DC to do better. And it can start with Black characters

I feel like people aren’t seeing the takeaway from the boycott and it failing/ending. By cancelling preorders on all books with non-black characters, you’re hurting any books for LGBT, female, or other non-Black POC characters. Same with black creators that have non-black books

((I think with a few set rules this boycott could've actually worked because I absolutely agree with the sentiment behind it. (I probably wouldn't have started it in Pride Month.)

Because it IS bullshit we don't have an mainline ongoing for a black character at DC rn.

disgusting dialogue btw. i can overlook how he draws female characters in general, but his obsession with sexualising teenage girls is a whole other issue people think falls under the umbrella of his objectifying designs. its so much worse than that

@TwoToneShoes I legitimately feel this way about so many stories/series/characters. If there is something that is less than an absolute banger people act like it’s terrible and a waste to exist. It’s alright for some comics to just be fine lol

@39daph @TheXodius To put it bluntly it’s not very complex writing. He can also be a very tropey writer. But mostly that doesn’t make him a bad writer. His stuff is usually easy and enjoyable to read. And for Nightwing, Redondo’s art is a reason the book is so acclaimed
