@blairewhite It's not really about you tbh, it's about the vulnerable people you could be causing harm to. And if you are a vulnerable person, then you're being even more silly
I have no sympathy for this bullshit
@JCMounduix Can you name 1 Bernie policy that is also an example of the far-left socialism that you are "warning" people against? If you can, you either don't understand his policies or you don't understand socialism.
@Zac2302 But also, it is a debt.
The system works on an 'individual to department' basis, the more students a department gets the more funding.
This means that education is being treated as a private good, something to be bought/sold, and not a public good, which is paid by tax
@Zac2302 I mean, the system doesn't just have problems with fees - marketisation also just makes the University a much worse environment.
But also there's no guarantees within the current system, a government is within legal rights to change the terms and fuck students over even more
@blairewhite Not wanting to go to war, and not liking the USA trying to act as world police (while conveniently asserting their own interests) is not 'defending Iran'.
Y'know you can condemn the actions of one country, and not entirely support the other country affected, but who needs nuance
The problems that contribute to climate change are structural and throwing money at it won't change anything by itself - substantial change to the way society functions is necessary.
What are you gonna do, pay the earth to regulate it's temperature better?
$300 billion. That’s the amount of money needed to stop the rise in greenhouse gases and buy up to 20 years of time to fix global warming, according to UN climate scientists https://t.co/htUWOoTDtF
