Applications are now open for the Member States through their respective YouthConnekt Country Chapters to submit bids to host the YouthConnekt Africa Summit 2027 with the deadline on 31st July 2026.

Before submitting bids, we encourage all interested Country Chapters to carefully review the Rules & Guidelines, eligibility criteria, and hosting requirements available on our website.

The EAC Secretary General, Amb. Stephen P. Mbundi, took the Oath of Allegiance as an Ex-Officio Member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) @EA_Bunge in Arusha, Tanzania, during a special sitting of the Assembly.

Ex-Officio Members report to EALA on the implementation of the Treaty and other matters of interest to the Partner States. They consist of the Ministers responsible for regional cooperation in each Partner State, the EAC Secretary General, and the Counsel to the Community.

Yet inconsistent implementation, weak coordination and limited enforcement continue to slow intra-EAC trade and the broader regional integration agenda.

🥁 On 19–20 February 2026, East Africa key players convene in Kigali, Rwanda, to confront both persistent and emerging constraints head-on.

The EAC Multisectoral Trade Meeting will bring together technical and policy leaders from across Partner States to interrogate bottlenecks, assess the effectiveness of current interventions and formulate concrete, time-bound actions to accelerate the full operationalisation of the EAC Customs Union and Common Market.
