This critically sick lion, trapped in a PRIVATELY run zoo in Karachi needs urgent, immediate rescue. Why isn't the local government acting? As private citizens, we cannot rush to rescue. We need govt intervention now. @AseefaBZ@BBhuttoZardari@murtazawahab1@SindhCMHouse
Until we start having difficult & uncomfortable conversations about Pakistani society’s attitude towards the sexual assault/murder of children and minorities,
no amount of capital punishment will fix a decaying society that fixes societal issues by blaming the victims
Life imprisonment for Maharang Baloch and Sibghatullah Shahji is a political catastrophe. The state thinks this is containment. It isn’t. It’s radicalization by decree. Every disappeared person, every sham conviction, every weaponized court produces exactly the alienation it claims to be managing. The judgement is legally indefensible. Politically illiterate. And morally, an absolute disgrace.
Balochistan does not need more punishment, it needs reconciliation. Those in power seem incapable of understanding that you cannot imprison your way to national unity.
ben & jerry (ben cohen & jerry greenfield) tried to boycott their ice cream from being sold in israel, so unilever went behind their back and sold a portion of the company to an israeli licensee against their wishes. israel is selling ben & jerry's through corporate domination

Thousands of children in Kasur were raped & videotaped, blackmailed & are still without justice. Zainab, Uzma, Kamran, the little boys of Shahrag, the little bachabaazi victims at trucks stood, coal mines, the brothels with sex workers age 9 up. And now this child raped & found dead above a grocery store.
Yet none of this is really a priority is it?
The relentless news keeps building. But as long as the powerful keep getting richer & more powerful, it doesn’t really matter.
We have become ridiculously desensitised.
Yet most of the people turning a blind eye to the LACK of child protection in Pakistan are deeply religious.
Curious. How do you all think your silence on every platform will show up on judgment day?
Because it will.
I stopped believing in a fair world when I started working with children’s rights & children in shelters 35 years ago.
But I do believe in the justice of Allah.
And Alhamdolillah I still do believe in the compassion & kindness of the human race.
There are angels amongst us that keep my faith in humanity alive.
In the mean time…. I request today as I did during Kasur… as I did in 2011-2013-2017-2018- & every year since I’ve been active on social media…
Please speak up and demand child protection, awareness & safe guarding for children, campaigns all over Pakistan.
This pandemic of child sexual abuse needs to stop.
It’s beyond insane how society has allowed it and how complicit all of those who continue to be silent are.
Every time I spoke on the BBC and uttered the word genocide, the host rushed to dismiss its very legitimacy. Each one of them has blood on their hands.
When sacred judicial halls are used by the mighty to punish opposition & rights defenders, individuals suffer but in time are vindicated. Damage to institution of judiciary however is long standing, irreversible

Yes, let’s victim blame the parents. Not the men who assaulted and murdered a child. Not the predators who walk among us. Not the society that keeps producing and enabling them. The parents. This obsession with policing women and children while refusing to confront male violence is exactly why nothing changes. By that logic, we should stop sending children to school too. It could be a teacher. A guard. A driver. Where does it end? Some children get abused at home by known people. The problem is not children existing in the world. The problem is predators.
We need swift and severe punishments so predators know they cannot get away with these crimes. And we need communities that look out for one another, where adults pay attention, step in and protect children when they see them alone and vulnerable.
8-year-old Muntaha was raped and murdered in Sargodha when she went to buy snacks, 19-year-old Misbah was raped and later crushed by a vehicle in Rahim Yar Khan, A 16-year old girl escaped kidnapping in Gujranwala. How many more cases before this is declared a national emergency?
Children should be able to walk to a local shop without being assaulted, raped, or killed. Yes, parents should be cautious. But the burden should not be on children to disappear from public life so predators can remain comfortable in it. The fact that our response is “keep your daughters indoors” rather than “remove predators from society” says everything about how badly we have failed.
Convicting #MahrangBaloch indicates that the powers-that-be have learnt nothing from history. Mahrang represents the educated segment of Baloch youth who demand rights and accountability. As Pakistani citizens they need to be heard and engaged with.
BREAKING: Sindh Bar Council strongly condemns the life sentences handed to Dr Mahrang Baloch and Sibghatullah Baloch, stating that “dissent is not a crime, disagreement is not sedition, and the peaceful assertion of civil liberties can never be treated as an act of disloyalty to the State.”
the society that allows an 8 yr old child to be r*ped, murdered, and discarded just for walking to the local shop and the reactions are she shouldn't have gone there alone, is entirely collapsed. a society this rotten shouldn't exist. It should be burned to the ground.
Stop victim blaming the parents of young Muntaha. Kids should be allowed to roam their gali and muhallahs. We need to bring strict laws regarding safety of the chilrden. Jitna in suwar mardon ka muashara hai, utna he bachon ka bhe hai.
My feed is filled with support & love for Mahrang. Clearly, no one believes the state's fabricated narrative, not even those on their payroll. Those claiming victory should remember that a regime built on a foundation of lies stands on shaky ground. It can crumble in a heartbeat.
She was 7 years old. It’s almost hard to fathom. I don’t even think we know how to express sorrow or grief anymore. The human mind was never built to absorb or understand this level of horror and evil. These men should be hanged publicly. There’s no other way.
