🚨🔵 One of the most important people at Chelsea right now isn't Xabi Alonso, Cole Palmer or even Moisés Caicedo. It's Dave Fallows.
While most fans focus on the players, Chelsea have quietly assembled one of the most impressive football structures in Europe behind the scenes.
Fallows isn't just another recruitment executive. This is the man who played a major role in identifying and bringing in players like Salah, Mané, Firmino, Robertson and Alisson during Liverpool's rise under Jürgen Klopp.
That's serious pedigree.
His arrival signalled a shift in Chelsea's approach. Less chaos. Less short-term thinking. More strategic recruitment aligned with a clear football vision.
The early results haven't been perfect. Some signings are still finding their feet, while others have already shown promising signs. But recruitment should never be judged in isolation. Constant managerial changes and shifting tactical demands have made life difficult for many players.
Now, for the first time in years, Chelsea have something they desperately lacked:
✅ A clear sporting structure
✅ A defined football identity
✅ A world-class coach
✅ Recruitment aligned with the manager
That's where the partnership between Dave Fallows and Xabi Alonso becomes so important.
If Chelsea get the next two transfer windows right, don't be surprised if this partnership becomes one of the biggest reasons behind the club's return to the top.
And away from the men's team, Chelsea are also beginning to think smarter financially. The women's team playing bigger fixtures at Stamford Bridge, increased matchday revenues and a stronger commercial approach all matter in today's financial landscape.
Because if Chelsea want to keep the likes of Palmer, Caicedo, Colwill, Reece James, Estevão and João Pedro together for years to come, building a sustainable football model is just as important as signing great players.
For the first time in a long time, Chelsea look like a club building something rather than simply spending towards it. 👀💙
🚨🔵I honestly don't buy the story of Xabi Alonso not being aware of Cucurella’s transfer to Real Madrid.
Marc Cucurella himself has already spoken publicly about having discussions with Xabi Alonso. He spoke positively about the new Chelsea manager and made it clear they had a good conversation.
So if the player had already spoken with Alonso and had likely explained his situation, how does it make sense that Alonso was completely unaware of the move?
To me, this transfer looks more like a personal and family decision. Cucurella is Spanish, Real Madrid is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and a return to Spain was always going to be attractive.
I find it hard to believe Chelsea would keep their new manager in the dark about the future of one of the team's most important players.
Maybe the final agreement happened quickly, but the idea that Alonso knew absolutely nothing? I'm not convinced.
What's your take on this situation, Chelsea fans?

“This is the map of Nigeria. After studying it, all I can say is that if Nigerians do not come out in large numbers to chase away these people, they will take over the entire country. As of now, they have taken over about 90 percent.”
