I have watched some staged kipindi called the Presidential Townhall, and the funniest thing is how Ruto has reduced the presidency to micromanaging things that should ordinarily be handled by his Cabinet Secretaries and senior officials.

In the health session, for example, much of what we were watching should have been the Health CS explaining what the ministry is doing, but Ruto has to personally appear in every small government function because his administration desperately needs every little activity to look like a presidential achievement.

Tomorrow someone launches a cattle dip somewhere and you will probably find the President there because it must be presented as evidence that agriculture is working.

UhuruRuto regime was deeply rotten and stunk but, at least he allowed ministers, PSs and agency heads to shine and create the impression of a government with functioning departments.

Under Ruto, everything must somehow become Ruto.
