Statement by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Shahadat of Supreme Leader Imam Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf expresses its profound sorrow and unequivocal condemnation of the assassination of Imam Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

This assassination undermines international law, destabilises the region, and pushes the world further toward chaos and conflict.

We extend our deepest condolences to the people of Iran during this time of grief and uncertainty. The loss of the Supreme Leader of the Iranian people is a moment of profound mourning for Iran and the brotherly people of Pakistan.

PTI urges the United States and Israel to immediately cease any further illegal aggression or escalatory actions.

With civilians gathered in large numbers on roads and in public spaces during this mourning period, the risk of civilian casualties is significantly heightened.

Even in the most difficult and barbaric of times, the sanctity of civilian life must be respected, and restraint must prevail over retaliation.

At the same time, we call upon Iran to exercise responsibility and caution. Reports indicating that drones have struck civilian residences and public places in neighbouring Arab states are deeply concerning. The protection of innocent lives must remain paramount, and any actions that endanger non-combatants must cease immediately. We call upon all states to desist from providing any form of support for the aggression launched by Israel and the US against Iran.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf reiterates its principled stance in favor of international law, sovereignty, restraint, and the protection of civilian life. The path forward must be guided by diplomacy, accountability, and an urgent commitment to de-escalation.

Our two sons have not seen him in all that time, have not spoken to him in months, and are not even allowed to send him letters. His name is banned from every Pakistani TV and radio station. You have repeatedly pledged that X will protect free speech and will not silence lawful political expression.
Yet Grok has examined my X analytics (3.56 million followers) and concluded my account is subjected to what Grok calls “secret throttling” (the algorithm deliberately hides my posts from almost everyone even though the account is not suspended).
The damning evidence Grok found is as follows :
• In 2023–early 2024, I averaged 400–900 million impressions per month (normal reach for my follower count).
• But in the entire 2025, impressions dropped to only 28.6 million total — a 97% crash to <3% of expected reach.
• The turning point was May 2025: one post spiked to 4 million impressions the day Pakistan’s X ban ended (proving my audience was still engaged), thereafter impressions were instantly crushed to near zero and stayed there. These numbers & assessments are all verbatim from Grok.

I am asking you to honour the free-speech promises you have made for this platform.

“The government has been given until Sunday, December 22nd. If by tomorrow the government does not show that they are serious about our demands, the first phase of our civil disobedience movement will begin, which includes a boycott of (foreign currency) remittances. This incompetent government will have to pay a heavy price for it. They have no idea how fatal a civil disobedience movement could prove to be for their illegitimate government. The government should immediately begin negotiations if they are serious about our demands.
It has been a month since the Islamabad massacre, and in any civilized society, the perpetrators would have faced justice by now. Yet, here, even a judicial commission could not be formed. Many of our people are missing, and until their details together with pictures are shared, clarifying where they are, we will not trust anything the government says.
Instead of sentencing political workers through military courts, a formal declaration of martial law might as well be made. Those who stole the CCTV footage are the ones responsible for the events of May 9th (2023). Those who fired bullets at (unarmed) people have now become judge, jury, and executioner, handing out punishments. This is not democracy. It is the law of the jungle.
Our second demand is for an independent investigation into the events of May 9th (false flag), a request we have repeatedly made to the Supreme Court. On May 9th, more than two dozen of our workers were shot dead. We have already made the details of 15 of them public. Furthermore, hundreds of our workers were injured by gunfire that day. Not a single soldier or police officer lost their life, so how can it be labeled terrorism? What falls under the definition of terrorism? The peaceful protest of unarmed citizens or directly firing bullets at them?
I already know what the verdict will be in the Al-Qadir Trust University case. All decisions are delivered (to courts) already written (elsewhere). Three judgments were announced against me in Adiala Jail, and all three were overturned by higher courts because all the cases were false and baseless. The government's farcical actions are damaging the country, not me.
People are mourning the loss of their loved ones in their homes. If it is necessary to meet for negotiations, our people should do so behind closed doors. Photos should not be taken with the perpetrators and facilitators of the November 26th massacre.
Our people who have been arrested are being kept in tents in the freezing cold at Attock Jail, which is not only against the law but also against humanity. Our ILF lawyers' teams should work more actively to secure their rights.
We had hoped that after Qazi Faez Isa's retirement, we would get justice from the Supreme Court. However, the mafia, through amendments to the Constitution by abducting members of parliament have taken control of the judiciary, which is now being used for political vendetta. Pakistan can only be saved through investment, but due to the absence of the rule of law, no one is willing to invest here, and the situation is worsening by the day. The nation's interests are being sacrificed at the altar of personal egos and extensions. The only way to improve the situation is to hand over power to a truly representative party of the people so that political and, consequently, economic stability can be achieved.”

As God is my witness, I did not sign Official Secrets Amendment Bill 2023 & Pakistan Army Amendment Bill 2023 as I disagreed with these laws. I asked my staff to return the bills unsigned within stipulated time to make them ineffective. I confirmed from them many times that whether they have been returned & was assured that they were. However I have found out today that my staff undermined my will and command. As Allah knows all, He will forgive IA. But I ask forgiveness from those who will be effected.
