Peer Globe (Part 1 of 2)

My node has always been connected to peers.

I just couldn't picture what that actually meant.

A list of IP addresses doesn't help most people understand the network they're connected to.

That's what Peer Globe is for.

Now I can actually see my node's connections across the world and get a better feel for how decentralized the network really is.

Why build another blockchain app?

Because I already run a full node.

I wanted a better way to explore, and verify blockchain data using my own node.

Public blockchain explorers serve a different purpose. They make blockchain data accessible to everyone, and they're incredibly useful.

Zureka is designed for full node operators who want to explore and verify that same data using their own node.

It's not about replacing existing explorers.

It's about giving full node operators another way to explore the blockchain, by using their own node as the source of truth.

Your Node. Your Truth.

Trust, but verify.

How it started...

Zureka wasn't the project I originally set out to build.

Last year, I started a small website project as a way to learn more about the Chia ecosystem, and put into practice everything I'd been learning over the past few years.

I hoped it would help me find where I could contribute and make a meaningful impact.

As I learned more about Chia RPC, CLVM, and how to work directly with my own full node, I kept building little tools to help me understand it all.

One small tool became another.

I kept revisiting old ideas, combining them, improving them, and honestly... just having fun building.

When I stepped back and looked at everything I'd built.

It dawned on me.

I wasn't building tools for my original project anymore.

I was building something that could grow with me.

Something I could keep improving for years to come.

That's when I knew I had to give it a name.

I've been building a new project for the Chia ecosystem, and I'd like to share it with the community.

It's called Zureka.

Zureka is a desktop application that connects to your own full node, helping you explore, understand, and verify blockchain data using your own source of truth.

It starts with blockchain exploration, but that's only the beginning.

The platform is built around four core areas:

Observatory: Explore and verify blockchain data using your own full node.

Research Lab: Organize addresses, build research groups, investigate activity, and develop your own insights.

Z-Portal: Allow trusted websites and applications to securely communicate with your local Zureka instance.

Z-Agent: Automate setup, streamline common tasks, and reduce repetitive clicks.

I'm building Zureka because I wanted a better way to use my own full node.

I’m just getting started.
