Throwback to 2019 when I donated $14,000,000 to @savechildrenuk to support children across Northern Nigeria.
True wealth is not measured by what we keep, but by the lives we change 🕊️ … F.Ote💲
I didn't use to be a picture person. Not that I hated taking pictures, I simply forgot to take pictures.
So my only proof of attendance at events would be group pictures or unaware shots from nosy photographers. The only evidence of existence I had were selfie photos I was forced into by a friend.
But the past year, I've learnt the important of pictures and videos. I'll never go back to the year 2021, but whenever I scroll through the small collection of photos I had from that time, I momentarily get sent back in time.
And one day, in 20 years, I'll look back at this time, through the lens of the photographs and videos I force myself to take.
It's an opportunity that was never available to humans of the past
I posted something regarding my absent dad
All of you had something to say
“You just showed everyone that your dad doesn’t love you”
“This app”
“You should have posted it”
When Ugo brought his story online y’all applauded him and called him a king 🤴 btw
This how y’all want people experiencing absent parenthood to stay quiet and rot in pain
I don’t care if it taunts me later on, I’m healed and trust me it doesn’t affect me in anyway
I’m doing okay in my own way and I don’t also blame him… Buh that’s just the reality of 50% of Nigerian youths, Don’t guilt trip me for voicing out
the things full grown men need advise/teaching on mehn, e dey always muzz me.
"don't pay for love with money"
"you only spend money on a woman that loves you, not so she can love you"
"don't be ashamed of telling your partner you don't have money for *that* at this time"
na now i understand the pain wey lecturers dey feel if their students no sabi wetin them suppose don sabi for primary and secondary school😂
Once people decide you are reasonable, they start expecting consistency from you in a way that leaves little room for the human act of confusion or contradiction. And this is where people start putting on performance.
"I married my best friend"
Does your best friend know you once thought of cheating on them because they upgraded their iPhone but didn't upgrade yours?
I saw a post one time where a Lady said whenever she’s having normal small issues with her husband, she covers herself while changing after bathing(not wanting him to see her nakedness)
The post wasn’t the issue, the number of Women relating to it in the comments was scary.
Different angles kept coming to my head that day that I ended up ignoring the post.
Some of the things that popped up in my head…
.
.
.
.
- Why do Wives see their bodies as what their husbands have to EARN(even in marriage o)
- So all the while that he’s been seeing your nakedness, you feel you’ve been doing him a favour like that and he owes you ?
- Is the nakedness a different one from the one other Men saw before you got married or you’re only punishing him coz he’s the one that decided to marry you ?
- Why do married Women still want incentives for sex from their husbands ?
- Is it an innate trait for the average Woman to want to trade their bodies for something ?
- If your body was that sacred, why should any Man happily get married to a pre-fucked Woman ?
What’s the wedding celebration for then ?
What ‘good thing’ did he find in you ?
- Aren’t you scared you’d be extremely useless to your Husband from 50+ since your body is your only major weapon/agency ?
Coz really…
For some people, freedom means doing whatever they want.
For others, it means having enough money to stop worrying.
Still for others, freedom means waking up without fear... speaking without pretending... having control over your time, your mind, and your direction.
Many people are free on paper but trapped by doubt, debt, addiction, approval, or circumstances.
Our definition of freedom is different because freedom is not just the absence of chains.
It is the presence of peace.
So...
At the end of the day, we are all searching for the same thing… a mind that rests, a heart that is settled, and a life that feels accomplished.
#Freedom.
