I had to quit my job, so maybe I'll stream something. Been deliberating between D2 (since the final update came out) and maybe some drawing. Who knows. I'll play it by ear, like I normally do
This wouldn't have blown up to such a catastrophe if Vex did her due diligence and contacted Kodiak directly before posting the first tweet. She made a conscious choice to put his information out there so that her fans knew who to target. One clarification could've solved this...
SUMMARY OF THE VEXMLK/KODIAKVT
I've seen a lot of discussion and disinformation spread about this whole situation and I'd like to make this thread as a breakdown on it, quick summary of what lead to it, and background info that seems to have been left out.

@queenjamslace If Vex didn't know who this person was originally (and their vtuber name was in the email address that was conveniently left out of the thread), why not just google the vtuber and make a callout post in that way? Why post the guy's legal name to a fanbase ready to attack for Oshi
@SilvyPersonal It doesn't change the fact that if she hadn't posted it in the first place, we wouldn't be here. If the email address had info that she could have looked up, couldn't she have dealt with all this privately? Why even post an email like that to twitter?? Just delete it and move on.
@SilvyPersonal Again, if an allegation was made about me that got me fired from my job, I would say the same thing. Regardless of gender. If someone posted your name on the internet thinking you emailed them rape threats, and that led to your termination, would you shrug it off? Probably not...
@SilvyPersonal - if you look through my twitter, it's pretty common for me to not tweet for long periods of time.
- if you look through his stream, he does explain that heard about the post, then later was fired.
- if I got fired over a email threat I didn't make, I would probably post the same
@SilvyPersonal@vexmlk Who? I'm not even a fan of Kodiak. I'm actually a long time fan of Vex, and have been a supporter for a long time.
I just don't like the idea that someone is using their fanbase's love and support for them to bring down smaller creators and getting them fired from their jobs.
@vexmlk Yes. You didn't know who he was. Which is why you search for information BEFORE making it public! The fact that you made it public before looking into him yourself is my problem with the situation. Finding out everything was wrong afterwards doesn't erase the damage done.
@I_hyperlethal_I That doesn't mean that she didn't do anything wrong. Her fans (not the one who jokingly said it, but someone definitely ran with the idea) got someone fired from their job over false allegations.
@vexmlk If his twitter DMs are closed, then you look into other forms of contact. Maybe his Discord would have given you an option. Maybe message him through his twitch and ask about it. A public post as your first response to a random email is not the smartest way to take it. Just sayin
