Let me tell you about a guy in Tulsa.

2019.Skipped college. Spent $8k on welding school. Started at $72k at a fabrication shop. Two years later earned his pipe welding certification. Income jumped to $120k.

Today he works shutdowns and turnarounds. Industrial facilities that need certified pipe welders for scheduled maintenance windows pay a massive premium for the skill. He clears $180k working 8 months a year.

The other 4 months he hunts in Colorado.
No student debt. No corporate ladder. No performance review deciding his ceiling. He owns his skill and the market pays him accordingly.

I’ve met MBA graduates 10 years into their career who would trade positions with him without hesitating.

This isn’t a rare story. It’s just a story that never gets told in the right rooms.
