It’s now open season on Chicago Police.

A driver ramming into 5 police officers is a direct result of a decade long, scorched-earth, no-holds-barred war of resistance against CPD.

This war against police — the purpose of which is to undermine police authority and the rule of law — has been waged by progressive lawmakers, community groups, and the CTU.

A campaign of hate against CPD, the result is police have now been backed into a corner by this backlash, and officers have been subject to a dramatic increase in attacks.

By stoking baseless and ridiculous fears of police with incendiary comments, the CTU, progressive aldermen, and community groups have created an atmosphere in which people believe it is possible to attack CPD with impunity.

My thoughts: someone is getting kickbacks. That’s why I have to fully audit the ankle monitoring system to uncover these failures and corruption.

Chicagoans, I need you to pray and stay vigilant. This is what’s happening with the ankle monitors. Please stay alert, watch your surroundings, and stay safe.

We have murderers and violent criminals who were supposed to be on these monitors but are now lost in the system. One was involved in setting Bethany McGee on fire on the train and another recently shot two police officers. Overall, nearly 250 people on ankle monitors cannot be located.

Here’s what my administration will do:

Fully audit the ankle monitoring system to uncover failures and corruption. I believe someone is receiving kickbacks on each monitor that’s implemented

Overhaul the system so every criminal is properly tracked.

Hold repeat violent offenders accountable with stricter enforcement. By keeping them locked up.

Expose and end corruption that allows criminals to slip through the cracks.

Give Chicagoans the safety, transparency, and justice you deserve.

Stay vigilant, and together we will protect our communities.
