Guru Bhat leads engineering for AI Foundations at Google, the team building the models everyone else builds on.
Work like that needs next-gen engineers. And a hiring platform that evolves as fast as the skills do.
That's why his team uses HackerRank.
@KettleAndTravel@ChaiAndMiles@greatindianmile Hey - never meant children in economy and parents in business. When my wife I travel as a couple, I prefer business. With kids, we mix it up. Sometimes economy, sometimes business. The goal is to always travel together.
Viv, meet Viv.
Had a chance to meet the legendary Sir Vivian Richards. I asked him to narrate the famous Greg Thomas story but I guess I hit the side button on my new phone that stopped recording. Total gaffe!
As I think about reinventing the company, hoping some part of his nonchalant courage stuck with me.
Everyone is still asking if India can build its own AI.
@sarvamai stopped asking and shipped it.
Raised $234M building India-first LLMs. 10 million API calls a day. Half a million hours of audio transcribed a month. In languages no global model bothered to learn.
Built from India. Built for the world.
Here's their story:
AI is changing what it means to be a developer. It is no longer just about writing code, but knowing how to work with agents.
That is what HackerRank Orchestrate is built to test.

I have worked with @vkhosla and many other VCs for over a decade and I can tell you he’s 1 of 1. This may seem like sycophantic but it’s not.
Building a company is fucking hard. The odds are so low and stacked up against you. Think about it, it’s borderline delusional to say I’m going to change something that has been the status quo for 100 years.
In this set up, you need real advice. You need truth tellers.
The entire partnership of KV (Vinod, David Weiden, etc.) embody the notion of brutal honesty over hypocritical politeness. And sometimes truth sucks.
But here’s the lesser know thing that doesn’t get discussed about the brutally honest advice — he makes it very clear that you, as the founder is ultimately responsible for the call. But it’s his job to say what he thinks.
He’s the closest to the famous CS principles — WYSIWYG.
And in a world where you are confused on people’s ethics, posturing, etc. his principles are clear — make founders more successful.
Thank you, Vinod for all the advice you have given / give and more importantly taking a shot with me.
Behind every great team is someone who made the harder, better call.
Someone who looked past the resume and hired for what people could actually do.

The LeetCode round in an interview tested one skill: writing code. AI does that easily now.
So we rebuilt the technical interview across the task, the evaluation, and the experience.
