HackerRank Bench just added Gemini 4 Argon to the leaderboard of frontier models on real-world, long-horizon SWE tasks.
Argon scored 49.7% overall, just behind @AnthropicAI's Opus 5.5 and Fable 5.1. It did so at just a third of the cost of Opus 5.5! 👀
Here's where Argon stands out: it tops the leaderboard for greenfield implementation (63%), building working systems from scratch faster and more completely than every other model we tested, including Opus 5.5. It also leads frontend & interaction fidelity among non-GPT models (63%).
Its weak spot: Identity & provisioning integration, where it trails Claude Opus 5 and several others - implementing standards-based identity lifecycle and synchronization across tenant boundaries is still its toughest category.
Every task on our benchmark is original, unpublished, and scored by hand-written behavioral verifiers.

We started @HackerRank a decade ago with the belief that skills matter more than pedigree. That’s still our core ethos, but the skills required to do the job have changed.
So, we're tearing down our past and reinventing the company from scratch.
Meet Chakra - the future of hiring.
Developers build with AI every day. Your hiring process should show you how they do it.
On October 28, our product team is going live to walk through all the exciting updates from our fall release!
Here’s a preview of what we'll cover:
1. See how Chakra, our AI interviewer, goes beyond code to evaluate AI fluency.
2. Explore the reinvented Interview, which gives hiring managers a firsthand look at how candidates solve realistic engineering problems in a shared coding environment built for AI.
3. Learn how HackerRank MCP brings your Chakra and Interview context into your team’s AI workflows to prepare interview briefs, create recruiting reports, and more.

Is there one AI model that’s best at every kind of software engineering?
Our results say no. Different models outperform others on different kinds of work.
That’s what our new benchmark is built to measure, and today we’re proud to share it with everyone!
HackerRank-Bench is a long-horizon benchmark that tests 15 frontier models across complete software systems - from understanding a codebase to building, modifying, and verifying behavior.
It shows us which models lead on each type of engineering work, and where they still fall short.

Over these 4 editions, HackerRank Orchestrate has gone from strength to strength, growing both, in size and the quality of participation 🥳
Here's what we've learnt about how developers are building with AI: which tools they pick, how they use them, and what separates the strongest builders from the rest.
Everyone wants more compute. But as @cerebras puts it, if you’re actually building the compute, the bottleneck isn’t infrastructure, but people.
This is how they’re hiring AI-native engineers, and why they trust us to help them do it:
HackerRank Orchestrate returns on October 24!
35,000+ developers from a 150 countries signed up last time. We're expecting way more than that this time 👀
Got an idea for an AI Agent? Put it to the test against builders from across the globe and see where you stand on the leaderboard.
Exciting announcements on prizes coming up soon!

We spent 10 years helping companies screen developers with take-home tests. But with AI, anyone can ace a take-home.
So we rebuilt the stack. Meet the new hiring process.
