After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.

I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.

In Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, 28-year-old Muslim truck driver Aamir from Palla village in Haryana, and the sole breadwinner of his family, was brutally murdered. The incident occurred when Aamir had gone out for work in his pickup truck. Cow vigilantes associated with Bajrang Dal rammed their vehicle into his truck. As soon as the vehicle stopped, Aamir was shot directly in the head without any conversation. Bajrang Dal justified the attack by calling him a “cow smuggler.”

This incident has devastated a family that includes Aamir’s four-month-pregnant wife, a two-year-old daughter, and a sister whose wedding was scheduled to take place after Eid. While the family says he was shot at point-blank range, the police initially denied that he had been shot and attributed his injuries to stone pelting. Although an FIR has been registered against unknown individuals and members of Bajrang Dal, no significant arrests have been made so far.
