At first, the scammer thought he was dealing with a naive little girl.
Her father was away when she received a phone call from an unknown man claiming, "Your dad asked me to send you ₹12,000."
She calmly replied, "Alright, go ahead and send it."
A few seconds later, the scammer sent a fake payment SMS showing ₹10,000. It looked almost identical to a real bank message, but no money had actually been transferred.
Then he sent another fake message, this time pretending that ₹20,000 had been sent by mistake. He immediately called back and said, "Oh no, ₹20,000 got transferred instead of ₹2,000. Please send ₹18,000 back."
The girl instantly understood the trick.
Without sending a single rupee, she copied the same style of fake SMS and "sent" him a message showing ₹18,000. Then she smiled and said, "Done, Uncle. You should have received it."
The scammer was left speechless after realizing he had just been outsmarted at his own game.
