I was on Swiss Air Lines flight LX147 from Delhi to Zurich today.

We had already started takeoff from Delhi Airport. Speed building up normally, around 104 knots.

Then suddenly, a massive blast-like sound.

Within seconds, the pilots slammed the brakes hard on the runway.

Strangely, the airline side handled rebooking relatively fast.

Flights were rescheduled promptly.

So two completely different experiences in one incident.

Air response saved us. Ground response failed us.

But what followed after evacuation was complete mismanagement on the ground.

No clear communication. People left waiting for hours with no information.

So much manpower but barely any coordination.

For an emergency like this, the response felt unprepared and inefficient.

Emergency slides were deployed onto the runway and everyone rushed out.

Over 230 passengers onboard. At least 6 injuries during evacuation.

Huge respect to the pilots & cabin crew, their reaction was immediate.

Those few seconds made the difference between control & disaster.

Passengers near the wing started shouting that the engine was on fire.

Fire brigade came promptly and tried to put out the fire.

Soon after smoke began entering the cabin.

That’s when the crew immediately gave the command: “Evacuate!”
