What 19 year old Vedamurti Devavrat Mahesh Rekhe has done will be remembered by the coming generations!
Every person passionate about Indian culture is proud of him for completing the Dandakrama Parayanam, consisting of 2000 mantras of the Shukla Yajurveda’s Madhyandini branch, in 50 days without any interruption. This includes several Vedic verses and sacred words recited flawlessly. He embodies the finest of our Guru Parampara.
As the MP from Kashi, I am elated that this extraordinary feat took place in this sacred city. My Pranams to his family, the several saints, seers, scholars and organisations from all over India that have supported him.

शुभ नवरात्रि! जय माता की!
On the first day of Navratri and when the divine Durga Puja season is underway, had the opportunity to pray at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, Tripura. Prayed for the well-being and prosperity of my fellow Indians.
I always thought I was a busy man. Until I experienced a day alongside Hon. Prime Minister Modi Ji in France 🙏
7 am we all were there for the the Bastille Day parade and he had to stand most of the time.
12 to 5 : There was Nonstop business meetings with all Business delegates from both countries.
Evening : We had a special dinner at the Louvre
12 am onwards : There were fireworks at the Eiffel Tower
After that, I was so tired. I popped a melatonin, and slept long.
But, the next morning when I woke up at 11, Modi Ji was already in the UAE, meeting government officials.
For years, we grew up believing that politicians don’t work hard. That belief doesn’t stand anymore.
When national leaders work with the same intensity (and more) of a startup founder, the least we can do is raise the bar for ourselves. Because building a developed India by 2047 will demand more from each one of us.
Happy Birthday, @narendramodi. Thank you for redefining what leadership looks like. 🇮🇳

When I look back on my journey in chess, certain memories stand out — not just from the board, but from life itself. One of those moments came from Gujarat. Years ago, when I played in Ahmedabad during the National Championship, I had a simple ritual: treating myself to a Gujarati Thali. It was something I cherished, a small joy outside the game. I never imagined that one day, this little detail of my life would be remembered and celebrated by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji.
I still recall the moment when, in the middle of a casual conversation, I happened to mention my fondness for Gujarati Thalis to Narendra Modi ji. When he heard this, he immediately smiled and said, “Oh, okay, then let’s go.” Without any formality, he took me to the State Guest House, where we sat down and enjoyed a delicious Gujarati Thali together. He even added warmly, “I want to give you the best Thali you can remember.” For me, it was a humbling and unforgettable gesture—a reminder that true leaders connect with you not just through grand visions, but through such small moments.
What has always inspired me is the balance he brings. On one hand, he is efficient, disciplined, and deeply professional, with his entire team working like clockwork. On the other hand, he is approachable, warm, and often light-hearted—someone who can crack a joke and make you feel at ease. That rare blend of vision and humanity is what makes him truly remarkable.
I also saw his innovative spirit in the world of chess itself. It was Prime Minister Modi ji who suggested that the Chess Olympiad, though separate from the Olympics, should also have its own torch relay. It was a revolutionary idea, and for the very first time, a torch ceremony was introduced to the Chess Olympiad. Today, it has become a proud tradition in our sport, one that the entire world embraces. Soon, chess leaders from across the globe gathered in Delhi for the handover ceremony, a legacy born out of his vision.
For me, @NarendraModi ji is not just a leader of India, but someone who inspires with both heart and mind. Whether through a simple Gujarati meal or a global chess tradition, he leaves behind lessons of humility, innovation, and warmth.

When I was preparing for my movie Rocketry, I got a personal experience of Modi ji’s extraordinary attentiveness. This was right after Uri had released and become a huge success. Modi ji was visiting Mumbai for an event at the, where a lot of people from the film fraternity had gathered. Everyone was eager to meet him and click pictures. I was there too — but not as myself. I was in full look of the great scientist Nambi Narayan ji, whom I was portraying as the lead role. With a big beard and full makeup, I genuinely doubted whether Modi ji would even recognize me.
To my absolute surprise, the moment he saw me, he said, “Madhavan ji, you look like Nambi Narayan. Has the shooting of the film started?” I was stunned. Here was the Prime Minister of India, burdened with the responsibilities of the nation and the world, yet he not only recognized me instantly but also remembered exactly what I was working on, despite my drastically different appearance.
That day, for the very first time, I took a selfie with him. Coincidentally, both of us had similar beards at the time. It remains one of my most cherished memories—because it showed me that @NarendraModi ji is not just a leader of vision, but a human being who notices, remembers, and values people in the most personal way. On your 75th birthday, wishing you the happiest birthday yet and praying for a Wonderful Happy and a Healthy year ahead for you.

My last visit was to Isha Samskriti which was somewhat similar to the traditional Gurukula model. Again, I liked the well-designed uniforms which were different for girls and boys. In fact, since the boys also had long hair, the colour of the uniforms helped to distinguish the boys from girls. The main focus of Isha Samskriti is the arts, music and dance. Though other subjects are also taught, the emphasis is on the arts. I saw children learning Bharata Natyam, classical music and so on. I wondered how the children learning music and dance here could be any different from those who learned in the thousands of institutions all over the country. The answer came when I learned that for the students of Isha Samskriti, their Gurukula education would not be complete until they practiced 60 days of silence in which they had to keep their eyes closed for at least six hours in a day. I was speechless on learning this.
The single most important element of classical Indian arts is spirituality. Without it, the notes of music or dance movements appear mechanical and shallow. The divine experience for a listener comes when an artiste is able to elevate their consciousness and make them experience bliss. Surely, the inclusion of silence and meditation in the curriculum of the Samskriti Gurukula would help to produce a new generation of artistes who will rescue Indian arts from the grip of gimmickry aimed at getting claps. Everything an artist could think of achieving from his art, he did it.
Artists like Zakir Hussain are my heroes infact hero for the entire artists' community. There is a lot to learn, and there was a lot to hear from him yet.

The sole reason I got interested in Tabla was Maestro Zakir Hussain.
I used to look for videos of him on youtube. Every performance every composition is a gem to listen to. I have been fortunate to witness him live.
He was the epitome of everything about an artist

coming from, by continuously doing the sadhna in the form of practice, he got a glimpse of the God of taal.
He said in one of his performances that we are taal sevaks, taal yogis, and that Ganesh Ji is our kuldev, which is true for every artist.
