Some random fuckin thing lit a fire in my goddamn brain, and I slapped out 2300 words on yet another writing project in the last two days.

If I had the energy to actually sustain something like this, I'd be unstoppable.

We're home from the non-emergency vet with another round of drugs for the boy. We'll need to address some other issues that were spotted during the exam at a later date, but that's just part of the fun of owning a pair of senior cats, I guess.

Cyric and I are home from a trip to the emergency vets this morning. He is mad at me, I am exhausted, but he's got some meds and whatever this is will get sorted in the next week

Today's big project was to print and assemble some maps for a DnD game I'll be running later this week, while I'm on vacation.

3 maps, 16+ pages each, full color. It cost less than $15 total to print them at my local library, and the print quality is GORGEOUS.

Libraries rule.

There will be no discussion of the amount of bodily fluids (both human and feline) that have been on my body, clothes, and other possessions in the last 30 hours, but it is Significant.

I have a lot of work to do before it's Ready, but enough heavy lifting has been done, so I can shift focus back to my main writing project, which is more reason to be grateful.

I am so deeply fortunate to have friends like @McDreaBean and @The_Ace_Couple who let me throw an ambitious (for me) DND adventure at them and who then throw it right back at me polished to a shine.

It's been such a hard week for so many, and I'm ending it still so grateful.

@emilyvdw Martha Wells is mostly known for her Murderbot booms these days, but her Ile Rien books are amazing.
Patricia A. McKillip's books, especially the Riddlemaster of Hed books, are short but utterly beautiful examples of classic fantasy. Riddlemaster def has that lotr vibe.

@emilyvdw The Stone in the Skull (and subsequent books) by Elizabeth Bear are fantastic.
The Queens of Innis Lear by Tessa Gratton is another good one (big, but no sequels).
I'd also +1 to the suggestions of The Mask of Mirrors and The Raven Tower.

I was having a pretty rough day but THEN there was a knock at my door and THEN there was a little pakige and THEN it turned out to me my rocket ship hat from @MaxFunHQ that I didn't even realize had shipped!
