Yesterday was the first day of autumn, which reminded me of the myth of Demeter and Persephone. The cycle of Demeter’s loss and regaining of her daughter is so much more than an allegory of seasons changing. It is a way that ignites the imagination towards truth, or as Lewis would say, reality.
