Excited to announce that my historical fantasy story "Omens, Signs, and Wonders," about a young diviner who comes across fantastical creatures in the desert and must determine what they mean, has been accepted for the upcoming Opal Kingdoms anthology "Sand and Storm!"
I've watched 28 notable classic movies so far this year (which is one of my annual goals). This year I focused more on westerns and comedies than before. Happy with my progress--I enjoyed most of the movies I watched. Looking forward to seeing what the rest of the year holds.
Todayโs author interview spotlights @AaronCanton1, who primarily writes YA fantasy and sci-fi.
His protagonists tend to be less powerful than their enemies, making up for it with cleverness and skill.

With the novel draft done, the goal is to do 2 short stories this month: a story set in the desert, and a story about kelpies. That'll be a nice contrast. :-)
Finished my current draft of my YA High Fantasy novel! All that's left is the polish and the supplemental material like the query letter; I'm going to let it sit for a few weeks and work on a couple of shorts, then swing back around to the book.
Milestones: Over 600 copies of anthologies which contain at least one of my stories have sold! (And that's only counting anthologies in Pubshare; I'm in some others too). Very excited to have gotten this far!
Had a fun few days finishing up and sending out a couple of short fantasy stories, but now it's time to get back to the novel. I've completed 13 out of 22 chapters for this draft; aiming to wrap up the draft over the next couple weeks or so.
My historical fantasy story "Law and Power on the Waves," about a young magician forced to catch a tannin--a sea monster from Jewish legend--has just been released in the latest Opal Kingdom anthology from @janastocks! Check it out here: https://t.co/QQOJZIRbEw

A long time ago--probably around 20 years back--I got a big omnibus of the 5 #HitchhikersGuide books, but I never got more than a short ways into it. Decided to change that and read the first book in the series this weekend. Enjoyed it! Looking forward to book 2.
This weekend I read "Alien: Prototype" by @TimWaggoner , which I got from him at @SuperstarsWrite . I enjoyed it! That was my first book in the #Alien expanded universe; I may well read more.
