25 years later. We remember the lives lost, honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and remember how our country came together in the face of unimaginable loss. #NeverForget
Hug your loved ones a little tighter today. ❤️🇺🇸
A quarter of a century has passed since September 11, 2001, when the peace of our Nation was shattered by terrorists.
Today, we remember the 2,977 precious lives taken from us, honor the heroes who answered the call, & keep their families in the heart of our Nation.
Above all, we must ensure the memory of 9/11 never fades, but is carried from one generation of Americans to the next.
We will never forget. 🇺🇸
25 years ago today, 2,977 lives were lost when 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial airplanes in a coordinated attack on the United States. Two planes struck the World Trade Center towers in New York City, a third hit the Pentagon in Virginia and a fourth crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after passengers and crew members fought back and stormed the cockpit, preventing the final plane from reaching its target, believed to be the White House or U.S. Capitol.
Today, we remember the victims, their families and the first responders who ran toward danger on one of America’s darkest days.
On this day, we remember those affected by the attacks on September 11, 2001. We are thankful for the bravery of the first responders who made sacrifices that day and continue to do so today. 🇺🇸 #NeverForget#TheWeightOfTheBadge
