@bbctms Not out. If he'd have 'caught' it and fallen over the boundary then it's a six. He put the ball on the ground to stop himself falling on his face.
@SwanJamz@WalesRugby@Steffan_Thomas1 How is that even a merger? Let's combine the teams into one called 'Cardiff', play in Cardiff and wear Cardiff colours. May as well 'merge' with La Rochelle. Actual clowns running Welsh rugby. I give up.
Twitter friends! I don't usually allow my PTA involvement and Twitter to overlap, but this is a big deal to a lovely small Welsh medium school in Barry. Can anyone give me a RT please? Oh and also come along! Diolch ❤️

@lidbid46@SkyCricket If the batter is cheating then ask them nicely to stop? What if they don't? Red card and send them off? Or, wait for it, allow the bowler to run them out? It's very easily solved - if you don't want the bowler to run you out, don't leave the crease early. Then everybody's happy.
@lidbid46@SkyCricket Trick them how? It's a big white ball. When it's in the air you can move out of the crease. If you go before then you run the risk of being stumped. Would you prefer the non striker to stand halfway down the pitch when the ball is bowled?
@NyeBrowny@PaulSpackman@SkyCricket The law is designed specifically to stop the non striker from unfairly gaining an advantage. There is no other reason for it being there. It worked. Next time she won't back up so blatantly. It's the risk the batsman takes but it's not fair if they get run out?
@NyeBrowny@PaulSpackman@SkyCricket You can't add (both feet beyond the popping crease) because that's not in the law. It just says 'expected release point'. When her arm is at the top of her delivery swing, the batter is out of her crease. I don't see what the fuss is all about. She was given out correctly.
@PaulSpackman@SkyCricket I agree the law needs changing but until then it's an easily preventable dismissal. Is it deception? Yes, but so is a googly or a slower ball. You can't complain because you weren't expecting it.
@PaulSpackman@SkyCricket And you have no choice in the matter? Front foot lands and you charge down the pitch regardless? If that's the case then I'll be in the England team next week getting run outs every ball.
@PaulSpackman@SkyCricket How would she know the ball was released if she wasn't watching it? It's a perfectly legal dismissal. If she didn't charge down the pitch to steal a few yards (this apparently 'is cricket') then she wouldn't have been run out while doing it (in the rules but'not cricket').
