@Exa2108 Where does it say these things? The most I see in reference to ideas for adaptability is crows snatching food from the tops of buildings or dogs learning code words to do actions that give them treats, they do these actions based on their outcomes, not on the actions themselves.
@Exa2108 You missed the bottom most point I made, if there was no action nor potentiality, there would be no need for change, why do we keep coming up with new ideas and solutions to problems?
@Joseeloma_@Paleocetus@PaleoKickMan It cannot, as I said, if it could, we would all be the same, there is something beyond a surface level that makes us all different.
@Exa2108 Wanting to investigate is not curiosity, if a deer peeks behind a corner to look at a hunter, it’s doing so for its survival, not because it wants to know why the hunter is there, those are two different kinds of curiosity, one is reasoning, one is habitual.
@Exa2108 Whether they want to and they can are two different things, like I said, curiosity must come of one’s free will, it’s not habitual, if someone wants to learn something they can, otherwise everyone would be comfortable and no one would complain or try to make things better.
@Joseeloma_@Paleocetus@PaleoKickMan Because it cannot be defined by simple words, it’s more than just experience, memory, feeling, and reasoning, if that were the case, everyone would think the same way, because they would perceive everything the same way.
@Exa2108@Joseeloma_ Yes it is, if you cannot agree that consciousness cannot be defined, then there is no point to this discussion, because my original questions were: why are we the only ones that act like we do, and where did it come from?
@Exa2108 You are making the claim, you provide the videos, and it’s not irrelevant, obviously different species’ brains are going to work vastly differently from each other, how the hell are we supposed to understand something else’s brain if we cannot comprehend our own?
@Exa2108 Curiosity is of necessity, not of habit, someone must want to know something in order to reason it. If a bird doesn’t want to reason why it flies, it has no curiosity, and its thinking is just then surface level, nothing beyond “how do I keep my self alive and reproduce?”
@Joseeloma_@Exa2108 That’s not what I said?! Stop putting words into my mouth, you made the objection that consciousness was not what I was talking about, but then never cared to explain what you mean, in order to win an argument, you must define what you are arguing for, you have not done that.
