Just realized that when shuffling #drums around, I opened a case in a dark room, ID'd a floor tom by smell without looking at it, and put it back WITHOUT THINKING ANYTHING OF IT.

For the record and fellow cork-sniffers, the case had a 40s Radio King, which smells distinctively pepperier than what I was looking for, a 60s @gretschdrums #roundbadge (woodier, softer nose with a bit more sweetness).
