to my demon deuce,
i hear the trade rumors, i hope it’s not true
i can’t imagine the knicks without you
if you’ve played your last game in orange and blue
i’ll always remember number 2
all the memories of the garden yelling “deuceeeeee” when you made a 3. quick feet hands like fly paper and that sneaky ability to poke the ball loose without fouling. you wasn’t the tallest guard out there but you played like you was 6’8 with the heart of a lion. the way you’d slide over on screens anticipate passes and just make life hell for whoever you were guarding. fans started calling you demon deuce for a reason and it wasn’t cap. you was out here stealing souls on d and then flipping the script with those smooth midrange pulls or those deep threes from above the break.
fast forward to the playoffs and that’s where my demon really showed up and showed out. 2024 first round against philly? you dropped 21 in one game like it was nothing bro. 7-12 from the field 5-7 from three out here single handedly outscoring their whole bench in crunch time. that series you shot over 43 percent from deep and played with zero fear. every loose ball every deflection every hustle play had your fingerprints on it. garden was rocking “deuce deuce deuce” chants and you fed off that energy like it was fuel.
then 2025 playoffs rolled around and you did it again but even smoother. 18 games deep averaging almost 6 points but it was the intangibles that mattered most. 1 steal a game consistent minutes locking down wings and still knocking down those 37 percent threes when the offense needed it. you was the ultimate connector bro. sliding into starting lineups when we needed you most
shooot don’t forget about game 4 vs philly this year. i know the finals wasn’t your best series but you were here for 5 years at our lowest and we picked you up in a shooting slump. you’ll always be a champion in new york and the city will always love you💙🧡
your style of play is straight knicks dna deuce. tough as nails on defense but silky smooth on offense. that quick first step off the catch or the dribble pull up from the elbow? chef’s kiss. you developed that shot so fast it felt like overnight you went from spot up guy to legit offensive threat. and the way you move without the ball cutting hard setting screens for the stars and then popping out for threes. it’s not flashy but it’s effective as hell. fans love you because you play with that new york edge that don’t quit. orange and blue runs through your veins now and it shows every time you step on the floor.
if this really was your last game in orange and blue i just wanna say thank you my demon. thank you for the hustle the heart the threes the steals the dunks the moments that had the garden standing on its feet. thank you for repping knicks the right way never ducking smoke never making excuses just balling out for the city that raised the standard. you came in as a kid and left as a legend in these parts. deuce fc forever ✌️💙🔶 no matter where you go next you’ll always have a home in new york. the memories the playoff runs the way you made us believe every single night… that don’t fade.
you earned every bit of this love bro. from the g league grind to the playoff heroics you did it the knicks way. tough gritty relentless and full of heart. if this chapter closes just know it was one hell of a ride and you wrote it perfectly. we’ll be watching wherever you land but nothing will ever top demon deuce in orange and blue.
run it back 20 more seasons in the garden if you can… but either way you forever a champion my guy. OAKAAK.
love you deuce,
-runupnyk 💙🔶
