@master_jpma Celebrate the survival of the known economic path which also doesn’t come with a 10 to 30 percent chance of being wiped out by a super intelligence.
Yeah more or less… i couldn’t tell you the amount of hours i’ve spent searching for errors and toying with code to make it do what i wanted and sometimes just working around not knowing how to code something up by using processes i knew jammed together to get a desired result… while knowing there are way better and faster way if i could just find an example to then modify.
But also i spent similar hours playing games and organizing files with matching syntax… so my time didn’t have the same value back then and neither did most peoples cause everything was slower…
I enjoyed all of that.
For a lot of well off people I imagine its hard for them to hear people complain about things they them self have been through while watching them not make moves to change the situation. And you’re right they probably do try to shut down the complaining but hopefully by offering some constructive guidance… but not everyone wants guidance sometime people just want and need to complain and that’s fine too. Venting can be good.
Thats not really true. Plenty of people start their own practices. But those people are going to be in their 30’s because thats how long it takes to complete the education and experience necessary for an otherwise ordinary person to successfully launch. Its not give to them even if it seems impossible, they worked and built.
The truth is through history people have had these and other existential fears. Successful people understand which fears are worth investing in.
Buddy, these fears are the wrong fears… they’re not even good scape goats for not flipping the script on your office life…
Its your life, its your time… change it to what you want it to be. Start small, fuck your florescent lights… get a coupoe warm lamps in your office… it anyone give you shit about it just smile at them and turn on another lamp.
Flip your script… your post is macro thought. Here is one. We’re on a mass of rock flying through space in an expanding universe that can collide with things… your stated problems are bull shit the problem is existence. But you exist, so ENJOY it. Make it the best existence you can fucking have.
You’ve got this! Flip it! Buy a lamp… start a side hustle… do some fun stuff… build uour hustle into a business… give your employees lamps… do more fun shit.
You know I told you who they are but now how some of that works.
The trucks and boats.
Those get rolled into business expenses dropping their cost by at minimum 33% for the owner operators and freelance brains. And possibly free for many of the company employees who are in fleet vehicles and members of boat clubs and golf clubs all paid by the companies because courting valuable relationships happens when others think “rich” people are playing and enjoying themselves. Truth is, it’s all “work” it’s just nicer work even the golf, boats, and trucks.
Sometimes its strictly play but the truth thats only sometimes true.
The honest truth:
Every person you see working hard means there is at least one or several people able to afford all the things you’ve mentioned.
Either that person is the owner operator of basically anything or works from someone who is the owner.
Thats the majority of the level of success you’re talking about then the slightly smaller sencond half is doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc…
The next level up looks similar and its the doctors that own their practice, the layers who are partners of the firm, and engineers who work freelance.
It’s a huge amount of people but It’s not mysterious.
The majority of businesses are small businesses. Your ideas hurt the majority to get the other half to pay more… which also sometimes hurts the majority.
I think this base level economics is essentially why it is the way it is… not a kindness just the balance of supply and demand.
That might be a nice thing to read and think about but the real reason for a minimum wage is to gave an hour a tethered floor by which the economy would be priced. When states untethered with large jumps doubling and tripling the floor… supply and demand (supply of dollars and demand for goods) shifted quickly and formed odd bleed with neighboring states. Everyone lost while some felt like they were wining. For a brief moment rising wages look like they help till the volitility settles at new higher costs. This i think is a major factor behind the cost of necisities being so high while luxury items are historically cheap.
Well yeah but both for us and against us… What’s really remarkable is the shortcoming of the general person that our forefathers intial writings and declarations are largely in place and unimproved.
Im not against policing our selves and i wouldn’t really want to privatize that more than it already is…
Hey, unrelated, thanks for buying X and making it awesome.
@PuzzleMindsa Its obviously a display space for questionably normal items… not perfectly normal… right? Anything placed there has to be a double entendre or the architects vision is lost. Also what a fucking weirdo 😂🤦♀️ i hope its not you directly who designed the silly space.
Congratulations! I mean it with sincerity…
I don’t know what the job was but you did it to completion successfully to the point of sustained living without it.
That earns congratulations even without supporting information.
I hope you’re having the best of times in your retirement!
I draw dots and connect them with lines. But the rules about which dots go where and when are contained in a bible thick book with a refrence librrary of thousands of books… Then I do some math to show the size of the line is the right size for the number and size of the dots to meet requirements of the books. If its the math shows its the wrong size i connect things differently to optimize the connections so the smallest size line size works unless the trade off is more lines in a way thats more expensive than larger lines or if the method of putting those lines in would have higher labor cost than putting in fewer larger lines… a lot of system and cost balancing… sometimes with odd projects i end up having to do it more than once because i didn’t pick the best way the first time… i dont fuck up often but when i do i eat my mistakes without comment… my work is reviewed by others who generally don’t specialize in what Im doing but are still obligated to show an effort so they say silly things I can mostly agree to but occasionally they’re frustrating.
Fun game. Best of luck determining what I do!
