@Acyn In hindsight, I don’t think it’s that her understanding is flawed, its that she’s repeating for her audience what she’s been told to say, which creates a consistent narrative of misinformation. It’s more powerful than truth.
It’s all good, the internet remembers. Just ask ChatGPT the following:
“Why did Canada make it through the housing crisis generally unscathed and who was responsible?”
Taking credit for the achievements of the Harper government is one thing. But claiming the legacy of a man who has since passed—who cannot defend himself or set the record straight—is beyond disgraceful. The credit belongs to Jim Flaherty and Stephen Harper. Full stop.
I won’t apologize for having a strong opinion on this. I am not just a spouse—I worked under the Harper government and saw firsthand the exceptional leadership of Mr. Flaherty and Mr. Harper in steering Canada through one of the most challenging economic periods in our history. What’s happening right now is not just misleading—it’s appalling.
@DontchaHatmi @steven_metz As I understand it Franklin was making a case for government taxation to fund militias among the frontier settler communities of PA during the French and Indian wars. Settlements were being raided and they needed the means to protect themselves. Still relevant in 2022?
@DontchaHatmi @steven_metz What is there to enforce? There is no registration. There is no licensing. There is no responsibility. The GCA is a joke. Johnson said as much when he signed the bill.
@DontchaHatmi @steven_metz We’ll they’re obviously telling you automatic weapons are off limits. Should everyone be able to buy those? Would that be better?
@pat_mur@kermitology@vicpdcanada@morph1138 Probably because of Toyota and the hundreds of lawsuits claiming crashes, injury, and death due to faulty accelerators and brakes.
@galeen50551@DadPinBC@npescod Glad to hear this virus has not affected anyone close enough to you to make any sort of impact. Meanwhile I'd like my dad back.
@miken32 @rexdevereux94 @timescolonist I realized after I said SMS I was wrong, it appeared like a system alert and disappeared after clicking OK.. Incredible use for this technology, though, however it works. Very encouraging that it's on the horizon in Canada.
@timescolonist I was in Hawaii on Jan 13th when the ballistic missile text woke me up. Even though it was a false alarm it was effective. I had roaming data turned off but it still came through because I was simply connected to a tower and SMS still works. Does Canada have nothing like this??
