@katiesiek SwingVision - it is an iOS app that runs on an Apple Watch. It can also use the smartphone camera and analyze where / speed of your shots as well though I tend to use that part infrequently.
@TaliaRinger He gave me parenting advice and I gave him PhD advising.
I will say also the younger the better for having kids, our last one despite the experience was way harder being +10 from the first.
@TaliaRinger First kid was at the end of the first year on the tenure clock. Second one was +4 years after that (almost tenure time) which seemed to work better but that might have just been experience from the first. One of my senior grad students had four kids.
@TaliaRinger I don't think you are off base. I did a rush of students early on and it worked out fairly well in hindsight. The bummer was when many of them had closely aligned graduations and restarting with a large batch of junior students.
@zubair_shafiq Thanks for the link. This was going to be one of the ones I was going to check up on since Olivier announced it back at SIGCOMM (way back).
@SashaMTL That is a really good point. We had focused primarily on user privacy (who has access, attempts at deidentification) and the process for a researcher (non-profit, complete a DUA) to get access putting more emphasis on that gate. Will watch this thread for recommendations.
@vj_chidambaram For those in systems, we are hiring one, possibly two faculty in the area of systems at the Assistant Professor level so definitely look for our posting in the next week or so :)
@RachelSchine As a search chair (last year and this year), definitely highlight this or let a member of the committee know. As others have echoed, it bodes well that if an offer that you would likely to accept due to an intangible that another institution would not be able to match.
