Extreme blackpill for American urbanism that the governor of the largest urban economic cluster on the planet and the nation's densest & most transit-accessible city won't pursue the slightest taxing of drivers and is instead going to raise taxes on businesses & workers
A few months ago, I shared a study from Oxford showing that, when liberals adopt the polities and narratives of right-wingers, they *lose* support and push their countries toward the fascists. Biden and many Democrats, in so many ways each day, are walking us off the cliff.
@feelingsstores ass saver fender, jack the bike rack, toe straps are always handy, crankbrothers m19 to fix whatever needs it, and a small frame bag. a feedbag is also a nice addition. whats nice is that most of this is easy to swap from bike to bike, so you don't need to buy multiple.
do not run across a crosswalk apologetically. you are of this earth and walk among her choir. the devils commanding their wretched chariots have long since severed the roots of their flesh and need a reminder that a leisurely stroll triumphs the roar of their insatiable machines.
This is so illustrative of everything wrong with American transportation policy. The base unit of transportation is *people*, not cars. Cars, including these ones, are the least efficient, most expensive, dangerous and polluting option available to move people in a city.
I don’t think people appreciate how ideologically driven DOTs are. They’ve set the car as the base unit of transportation and the lives of people outside of cars at zero. To get a signalized crossing, 5 pedestrians have to be hit, badly hurt or die at that location within a year.
Right now, we need ALL PEOPLE WHO BIKE to be in solidarity with people who ride e-bikes.
If aggrieved drivers -- and make no mistake, that is who is behind Bob Holden's bike licensing bill --- have divided us into "e-bikers" and "bikers" then we have already lost.
