All the great breakthroughs in science are, at their core, compression. They take a complex mess of observations and say, "it's all just this simple rule".
Symbolic compression, specifically. Because the rule is always symbolic -- usually expressed as mathematical equations. If it isn't symbolic, you haven't really explained the thing. You can observe it but you can't understand it.
Wage growth staying over asset price inflation is the only organic leveller of income inequality, don't know how much to read into this table though.
Even if wealth were to be rebalanced equally in society one will work more than another and competition will create inequality again, the key might not be to fix inequality but the magnitude of it (another good idea inheritance tax, doesn't discourage entrepreneurs in the way some other taxes on income do, or cost of doing business going up via indirect taxes)
