Musician, teacher. Love the human and more-than-human world. I tweet a lot about saving our native forests, we really really need to stop logging them.
#GunaiKurnaiCountry: FFMV have just now lit up over 1000Ha Special Protection Zones set aside for Greater Gliders and Yellow BGs. Call Min Ingrid Stitt 03 93631644. Leave message. [email protected] Why don’t #FFMV do pre or post-burn fauna or flora surveys?
#GunaiKurnaiCountry Mt AlfredSF 182Ha. We fight so hard to save species from logging but #FFMV can light massive fires with no pre or postburn surveys. FFMV know here are old trees, rainforest, masked &sooty owls, koalas, gliders, bandicoots etc etc, but they burn it all anyway
Asthma triggered this morning because the government is burning the forests around Melbourne. This outdated practice is now known to make forests MORE flammable. Get in line with the science Vic Labor.
On Sunday I visited Toolangi Forest in the Central Highlands.
The increased bush fire risk is there for all to see.
The science is clear - we need to stop native forest logging now, before it’s too late.
Melbourne Water must cease the clearing and logging of habitat in the Silvan Closed water catchment and engage ecological restoration experts in the rehabilitation of these sites not log them further.
We need greater oversight and regulation of Fire operations in Victoria

On Monday, I'll move a motion for the protection of native forests to be put back into national environmental laws (the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Act, or EPBC).
The same day @DanielAndrewsMP announces $5 million for animal welfare issues in Victoria his native forest logging company VicForests gets done in court again for actions that could wipe our Aussie wildlife such as Greater and Yellow Bellied glider. Stop the logging Dan
Just told someone that VicForests had lost a big court case and they said "Oh yes I heard about that last week" and I said "No, they lost ANOTHER one".
Getting hard to keep track.
