Plz stay home & eat in unless absolutely necessary! This is an opportunity for ALL of us to protect ourselves while also protecting those who are elderly or who have compromised immune systems! This tweet is not about fear but about being responsible. Responsible for each other!
What’s the point in shutting down schools because of COVID 19 when everyone still has to go to work? And that they won’t test you unless you’ve been out of the country in the past 21 days?
To clarify:
Isolation = you have tested positive for the virus
Quarantine = you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus & are waiting to see if you develop symptoms
Social distancing = something everyone can do to reduce the risk of transmission
I have 4 kids and one has been vomiting since 5am.
We are out of surface disinfectant spray/wipes and all the local stores have empty shelves.
😩
I know it’s not COVID, but I’m seriously not prepared to have all 6 people under this roof simultaneously vomiting.
Older adults and people w/ severe chronic medical conditions may be at higher risk for severe illness from #COVID19. If you or a loved one are at increased risk of getting COVID-19, act now: stay home when possible & make a plan in case you get sick. https://t.co/juMv7KnMCz.
A hospital in Seattle area has sent out a note to staff, shared with me, suspending elective surgery and warning that "our local COVID-19 trajectory is likely to be similar to that of Northern Italy." The hospital is down to a four-day supply of gloves.
Coronavirus price-gouging: "California’s price-gouging law bars sellers from increasing prices by more than 10 percent after officials declare an emergency."
These guys bought up all the hand sanitizer, sold it for $70/bottle. New mothers can't get any.

The irony is:
The more successful these public health measures are
The more people will say it was all blown out of proportion.
To my colleagues in public health: I see you & greatly appreciate your service.

I’m not panicked about the virus itself, I’m panicked at the mass panic. I’m panicked about not having toilet paper or bleach or water or dog food. I’m most panicked that it could get to where there’s a shortage of food bc I have a child to feed. THAT scares me the most of all.
Great work by #EWU Facilities crews - making the rounds on campus to keep us safe! These Electrostatic Disinfectant Sprayers are used daily on key touch points in all buildings. Still need to practice good #handwashing@EWUEagles
