In RHEA we have several options for the comparison of rheology from different data files. This short video shows how we can analyze and compare 24 results from the SHRP core asphalts in just a few minutes. https://t.co/52C3aKn4PH via @YouTube#rheology#rhea#asphalt#bitumen
It’s great to be part of this industry and we recognize that the role that the @Asphalt_AIF and @Asphalt_Inst make is pivotal to the industry moving forward in a good way.
The Asphalt Institute Foundation is thankful to our many sponsors and donors. We want to honor those who donated to our brick-by-brick drive. Thank you @AbatechInc#charitablegiving
This week we have been discussing Rheology in France and using the new version of the RHEA software with old and new friends in Bordeaux. Many of the ideas linking rheology to critical aspects of pavement performance started in France in the 1970s and 1980s.
An AAPT working group … working together to further develop our great organization in asphalt pavement technology 👍 @AsphaltTech #asphalt#paving#bitumen
@krishennaidoo When you have the ability to survey in this manner you could add features for different aspects - certainly in the future this could be used in QC/QA activities- but the technology is just developing! Innovation by our engineers is exciting in this age!
A friend sent me this link earlier today - https://t.co/wzrtyQkyv8 - drone technology and the use of innovation in surveying will be a large item in the future for pavement engineering and many other aspects that impact civil and environmental engineering
Interesting work to be conducted in England on plastics in asphalt pavements - we need to consider all aspects for the future - https://t.co/7uQqLrzYnr
This was a really good presentation and emphasizes the need for early engagement for a successful asphalt paving project with excellent quality #asphalt@AsphaltTech@NAPATweets @Lanamme_UCR
Abstracts are due September 8th 2020 – for the ASCE International Conference on Transportation & Development (ICTD 2021) https://t.co/eDhzy4fQfF which organized by the Transportation & Development Institute (T&DI) of ASCE. #pavements#research#asphalt#roads@ASCE_TDI
https://t.co/V3LOWFIrgG are now having many online presentations on Asphalt Technology via web meetings on MS Teams, benefits membership in difficult times with Covid-19. In attendance with folks from Europe, Africa and America, maybe more! @The_IAT@IATDevelopment@HB_Driven
Online Petersen Asphalt Research Conference- PARC https://t.co/fkzd1Sg47p sharing results of new asphalt research - a good format with a record number of participants @AsphaltTech@Asphalt_Inst @Lanamme_UCR @BATT_Lab
The RHEA software has been further developed with additional models for describing the time or frequency dependency of asphalt materials. We now include eight different models – some more applicable to liquid behavior and some better with solids.
After chatting with a past @Asphalt_Inst AI Technical Director and past @AsphaltTech President - I enjoyed reading some of the history of mix design - a 143 page paper by Norman McLeod 1950 - AI with MS-2 and AAPT - two great sources for understanding mix design.
