اسلام آباد: میانوالی کے 200 بستروں والے مدر اینڈ چائلڈ ہسپتال سے بانی چیئرمین عمران خان کے نام کی افتتاحی تختی ہٹانا ایک بار پھر اس بات کا ثبوت ہے کہ موجودہ حکمران سیاسی مخالفین کا مقابلہ کارکردگی سے نہیں بلکہ تاریخ مٹانے کی کوششوں سے کرنا چاہتے ہیں۔

تقریباً 3 ارب روپے کی لاگت سے تعمیر ہونے والا یہ ہسپتال، جس کا افتتاح دسمبر 2022 میں عمران خان نے کیا، میانوالی اور سرگودھا ڈویژن کے لاکھوں عوام کے لیے اہم طبی سہولت ہے۔ اس منصوبے کی شناخت ختم کرنے کی کوشش عوامی خدمت کے منصوبوں کو سیاسی تعصب کی نظر سے دیکھنے کے مترادف ہے۔

یہ منصوبہ عوام کی سہولت کے لیے بنایا گیا تھا، کسی فرد یا جماعت کی ذاتی ملکیت نہیں۔

• پاکستان کا واحد کرکٹ ورلڈ کپ عمران خان کی قیادت میں جیتا گیا، یہ حقیقت کسی تصویر یا تختی سے تبدیل نہیں ہو سکتی۔
• شوکت خانم، نمل یونیورسٹی، صحت کارڈ اور دیگر فلاحی منصوبے اس بات کا ثبوت ہیں کہ میراث کام سے بنتی ہے، سرکاری احکامات سے نہیں مٹتی۔
• تاریخ تختیاں ہٹانے سے نہیں بدلتی، عوامی یادداشت اور خدمات اسے زندہ رکھتی ہیں۔

جو لوگ اپنی کارکردگی سے مقابلہ نہیں کر سکتے، وہ دوسروں کی شناخت مٹانے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں لیکن منہ کی کھاتے ہیں۔
عمران خان کا نام کسی تختی کا محتاج نہیں، ان کی خدمات ، عوامی اثر اور اس چور ٹولے میں عمران خان کا خوف ہی خود ان کی پہچان ہیں۔

Erasing Imran Khan’s image from a historic 1992 World Cup photograph during APPNA’s Orlando Convention is deeply disappointing and unacceptable. What makes this even more disturbing is that every other photograph was left untouched only Imran Khan’s image was deliberately erased. APPNA is a respected platform of Pakistani-American physicians, and its leadership must take serious notice of this act. Political differences should never justify censorship, intolerance, or disrespect toward Pakistan’s national history. You may hide a photograph, but you cannot erase Imran Khan from the hearts of millions who admire and respect him. History cannot be rewritten by covering a face. I urge APPNA’s doctors and administration to investigate this matter and take appropriate action. You can cover a photograph, but you cannot erase history. 🇵🇰

Yesterday, our family met with KP ministers at the Islamabad High Court. We held a detailed discussion on the steps being taken to restore all of Imran Khan’s legal and lawful prison rights.

During the meeting, Ministers provided the following update:

1. There will be no surplus budget, as Imran Khan has consistently directed that all available funds be utilized for the development and uplift of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

2. The KP Government will not sign any agreement to transfer the Rs. 175 billion requested by the Federal Government unless the following demands are met:

• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa must receive its full share for the merged districts (formerly FATA) for the current fiscal year, amounting to approximately Rs. 300 billion. These funds are essential for the economic development and stability of the merged areas.

No agreement will be signed until all of Imran Khan’s legal and lawful rights are fully restored, including

1. The immediate transfer of Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital for proper diagnosis, examination, and treatment by qualified specialists.

2. An immediate end to Imran Khan’s eight-month isolation and solitary confinement.
a) Restore weekly meetings with 6 family members, 6 members of his legal team, and 6 friends (political associates)

b) Restore his weekly phone calls with his sons.

c) Restore his access to books, newspapers, and other reading material.

These are the basic legal and human rights that must be respected and restored without further delay.
