Asking myself some BIG questions after attending the @BERA_ECRNetwork conference. Take a look at my blog and while you're there enjoy the cover illustration that kind of looks like me...but maybe a little less dishevelled 🙂
✍️ New on the blog!
Abbey, a PhD student at the Wolfson Centre, reflects on her experiences as a researcher following her attendance and presentation at a conference in Leeds.

Unless systemic changes are made that include Education, Health and Social Care our children and families will continue to suffer. #SEND#autism#ADHD#adoption
1/3:
As is now officially tradition, I have decided to celebrate completing the 2nd year of my PhD by sharing some accomplishments from this past year. The hope is to remind myself that I am doing ok...even during those moments where it all feels a tad overwhelming. Here goes:
3/3:
Presented at the BERA PGR conference in Leeds
Connected with new professionals both nationally (RE-STAR and ALPHA) and internationally (hi @RosaCheesman)
Gained access to SAIL data for the final stage of my project
Whoa...2 years down, 1 to go...better get cracking 😊
2/3:
Conducted secondary data analysis using multilevel models
Wrote another draft thesis chapter
Conducted 46 student/staff interviews
Learned to use nvivo to conduct thematic analysis (huge thanks to placement student @Isi_Jovanovic)
Consulted with the NCMH Neurodivergent YAG
Thank you to everyone who attended the @DECIPHerCentre forum this afternoon to hear a preliminary update from the thematic analysis of my secondary school staff interviews. I am grateful for your feedback, insights, and commitment to a bit of light 'audience participation'! 😊
I've just completed the final interview for my qualitative case study project and am eternally grateful for everyone who took part and openly shared their experiences and expertise with me. 3 secondary schools, 15 staff, 31 students. Thank you all 🙏🙏🙏
Yesterday I presented at the #BERAECR conference on the 'crossroads to becoming'. It was great to meet and hear from other ECR's about their personal research journeys. I even found some pertinent street art in Leeds market! Thanks for having me @BERA_ECRNetwork
📢School staff with a pastoral role needed to complete a national survey
We want to understand what priorities, enablers + barriers they see as important when promoting the mental health of autistic/ADHD students + staff working with them.
