SHOULD ISRAEL ARM THE KURDS?

In a Jerusalem Post opinion piece, Kurdish-Swedish journalist Suzan Quitaz argues that Israel should move beyond moral support and actively help arm the Kurdish national movement.

Her case is strategic as much as moral: Kurdish forces share Israel’s enemies, could weaken Tehran’s control from within, disrupt the Iranian weapons corridor and provide Israel with a reliable regional partner against Iran, Turkey and Islamist movements.

For decades, Israel’s enemies have funded and armed forces against it. Should Israel now adopt the same strategy by supporting a people who also seek independence and face many of the same threats?

Would arming the Kurds strengthen Israel—or drag it into another regional conflict?

U.S. STRIKES IRAN FOR 12TH CONSECUTIVE NIGHT

CENTCOM says American forces struck Iranian maritime capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites and air defense assets overnight.

In Memory of Senator Lindsey Graham

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham, a steadfast friend of the State of Israel and one of the strongest voices in support of the Kurdish people and their aspirations for freedom, security, and dignity.

Throughout his years of public service, Senator Graham stood firmly with Israel. He consistently defended Israel’s right to protect its citizens, supported its fight against terrorism, opposed the Iranian regime’s aggression, and worked tirelessly to strengthen the strategic alliance between the United States and Israel. Even in Israel’s most difficult moments, his support never wavered.

Beyond his unwavering commitment to Israel, Senator Graham was also a true friend of the Kurdish people. He recognized the Kurds as courageous allies in the fight against terrorism and advocated for their legitimate rights, security, and future. His voice helped advance international recognition of the Kurdish cause and strengthened the partnership between the Kurdish people and the democratic world.

As President of the Kurdish Jewish Community in Israel, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, the American people, and all those who were inspired by his leadership.

Senator Lindsey Graham’s legacy will endure as a courageous statesman, a defender of freedom, and a true friend of both Israel and Kurdistan.

May his memory be a blessing.
