From His Majesty @KingAbdullahII’s inauguration of the 20th Parliament’s third ordinary session, during which His Majesty delivered the Speech from the Throne
#Jordan#ThroneSpeech
The Nashama have chased them to the very end. We vowed the terrorists would not escape punishment, and no proponent of dark ideologies that divide Jordanians will be tolerated. We pray that the martyrs’ souls rest in peace and wish the injured a speedy recovery.
May God protect and watch over Jordan and its people
My prayers go out to all those who were injured or lost their lives last Friday in the terrorist attack on worshippers at the Orthodox Church of Saint George in Hamoud, Jordan. I express my closeness to the community and the entire country, which is known for its peaceful coexistence and respect between different religions.
The Kingdom is grieving. Don’t use our grief to slander us.
Jordan is in mourning. We are crying for the families who lost their loved ones and praying for everyone still fighting for their lives. But what has come in the days since is a second wound. Before the victims have even been buried, people who have never set foot in my beloved homeland are calling Jordan unsafe for Christians. Some are lumping us in with places where Christians are truly hunted. They are using our tragedy to run their own narrative. It is disgusting, and I could never in my life ever imagine anyone saying such things about Jordan.
One act of evil does not erase generations of truth. Jordan’s leadership responded the way a protector responds. His Majesty @KingAbdullahII went to the hospital to visit the wounded. He promised that the attackers would be met with the harshest retaliation. Our government called it what it was: a terrorist attack. No excuses and no hiding. That is a government that treats an attack on Christians as an attack on all of Jordan. Because it is an attack on all Jordanians.
And the world has already seen how Jordan treats its Christians, because they came and saw it themselves. When @TuckerCarlson visited, he went to the Baptism Site of Jesus on the Jordan River and praised Jordan’s role in preserving Christian holy sites. He described our country’s custodianship of Christian holy sites and its allocation of land for churches as a “very important message” in a region in turmoil. He even said that Americans might be confused to hear that a Muslim king funds Christian holy sites. And when he found out about that, he himself was shocked. It isn’t confusing to us. It is who we are. That is the Jordan we all know. That's the Jordan we all love. Christians and Muslims here are neighbors, classmates, coworkers, and family. We stand at each other’s weddings and weep at each other’s funerals. Here, there are no Muslims and Christians. There are just Jordanians.
This is why this attack has shattered us. It is not who we are, and it has no place in our story. That is exactly why the whole nation is mourning together. Muslims and Christians are grieving side by side, because the victims were our brothers and sisters.
We have watched this story play out elsewhere. When a tragedy like this strikes in a Western country, it is too often seized on within hours, turned into fuel for hatred and division, and bent to serve a politician’s agenda or a party’s talking points. The victims become props, and the grief becomes a weapon. That is not how we mourn. When we see such attacks on the news, we see them the way our families always have, from a living room where a Christian and a Muslim sit side by side, eating from the same plate. We look at the people who commit these acts and see exactly what they are: extremists, criminals, and terrorists who speak for no one and betray every faith they claim. They will not divide us.
To the families: Jordan is crying with you, and Jordan stands with you.
To everyone spreading fear and rumors: shame on you for using blood that hasn’t even dried. Don’t rewrite a kingdom’s story because of the worst day in its history books.
And to everyone watching: come see Jordan for yourself. Walk to the Baptism Site. Sit in our homes. Meet our people. Then tell me we are a country to fear.
Jordan is grieving. Jordan is united. And Jordan will never be defined by one act of hate.
God bless this honorable land and its people.
Today’s heinous crime against worshippers in Karak has devastated us all. This deep wound is borne by all Jordanians and the loss is not only felt by the village of Hmoud, but by each member of the larger Jordanian family.
Our hearts are with our people of Al Karak. May the martyrs rest in peace, may the injured make a speedy recovery, and may God protect Jordan and its people.
Today’s attack in Jordan was a cowardly act of terror, and it will be met with the full force of the Kingdom. Jordan is a nation in which Christians and Muslims stand together, and it remains among the safest places in the region for both. Those who carried out this attack sought to divide Jordanians. They will fail. Our unity is unbreakable, and our people stand as one, from north to south.
The strength of this kingdom is beyond question. Under the wise and resolute leadership of His Majesty the King, our armed forces and security services stand ready, vigilant, and fully capable of defending the homeland and its people. Let there be no misunderstanding: acts of this kind will not be tolerated, and those responsible will be pursued and brought to justice. They will face the harshest punishment, and they will find no leniency within the Kingdom's borders.
To the families of our martyrs, our deepest condolences. Your loss is the nation’s loss. To the wounded, we pray for your swift recovery. Every Jordanian life is precious, and we will defend them with an iron fist and no mercy.
Long live Jordan. Long live the King.
The terrorist attack against Karak will be met with the harshest retaliation. Those who delude themselves into thinking that they can divide Jordanians with their bullets have no chance in the face of our unity. All Jordanians, from north to south, are partners in land and fate, and nothing stands between them. Our deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs and we wish a speedy recovery to those injured.
Every Jordanian life is precious, and we will strike with an iron fist against those who dare to threaten our nation

Joint Statement
The Foreign Ministers of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Türkiye, the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Republic of Djibouti, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of the Sudan, the Syrian Arab Republic, the Federal Republic of Somalia, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Palestine, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Lebanese Republic, the State of Libya, Malaysia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Yemen. strongly condemn and express their unequivocal rejection of the inauguration by the Republic of Colombia of its embassy in Jerusalem, a step that contravenes relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and undermines international efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace based on the two-State solution.
The Ministers affirm that any measure or decision intended to alter the historical and legal status of occupied Jerusalem, or to recognize it as Israel’s capital, is null and void and has no legal effect. This position is consistent with relevant United Nations Security Council and General Assembly resolutions, particularly Security Council Resolutions 476 (1980) and 478 (1980), which reject attempts to change Jerusalem’s character or status and call on States to withdraw diplomatic missions from the city, which is part of the Palestinian territory occupied in 1967.
The Ministers call upon the Colombian Government to reconsider and reverse this decision, uphold its obligations under international law, and refrain from measures that prejudice the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to an independent and sovereign State with East Jerusalem as its capital.
