Benedict Cumberbatch shows support for free Palestine
"This land, the lady of lands, the motherland of beginnings, the motherland of all ends
She was known as Palestine.
She forevermore will be known as Palestine”
The people of the UK
should feel so embarrassed
by their government.
-Ana Kasparian
"Western values don't mean anything anymore," Kasparian said.
She argued that Western governments consistently invoke freedom of speech and freedom of expression as foundational values, but abandon them entirely the moment Israel becomes the subject of criticism.

Disgraceful of the Met Police to say there were 43 arrests at protests in London, while refusing to say at which demo.
They’re desperate to portray the pro-Palestine march as equivalent to the far right rally, when we all know where these arrests will have happened.
The Guardian has released a statement after Nigel Farage posted a photo of one of their photographers' press passes, implying that a photojournalist threatened his safety:
"The Guardian is concerned by the recent publication on Nigel Farage’s social media pages of the professional credentials of a photographer working on behalf of the Guardian while he was working lawfully in a public space. Holding public figures to account is the role of a free press.
"As part of the Guardian’s journalism covering Nigel Farage’s purchase of a £1.4m property in cash shortly after receiving a £5m personal gift, a photographer took pictures from a public path and showed his press card when asked to identify himself."

In Japan, a man continues his solitary protest for Palestine, now in his third year of standing alone in the streets of Tokyo. Every day, he raises his banner in support of Gaza.
I join Amnesty International in condemning #Eurovision and call everyone with a conscience not to watch it.
BIG THANK YOU to the 5 countries who withdrew from the competition:
Iceland!
Ireland!
Netherlands!
Slovenia!
Spain!
Put Apartheid out of our lives.
I’ve written to the Prime Minister demanding urgent transparency on the Hillsborough Law.
Govt says it won’t share details with families this week to “avoid politicising” the 37th anniversary on Weds - yet is apparently happy to brief the media.
Families should NEVER learn of key developments in legislation named after their loved ones in this way.
After all they’ve endured, this lack of candour is unacceptable. We all need answers. Now.

This has gone down very badly with many of Trump’s biggest cheerleaders. He seems to be on a mission to piss off absolutely everyone, for reasons that are beyond my understanding given his current approval numbers.
