For years, children in Somalia with congenital heart disease had little hope for advanced care. Today, that’s changing. Through a first-of-its-kind initiative, @hsfsomalia is giving them a second chance at life by sponsoring life-saving heart surgeries in Italy ❤️

Every year, an estimated 1.35 million children are born with a heart defect known as congenital heart disease (CHD). Although our country is steadily recovering particularly in the health sector there are still thousands of parents whose children live with this condition, with little to no treatment available locally.

To help save these children, we stepped forward and facilitated the transfer of 24 children abroad for life-saving care for open-heart conditions. Today, they have regained their health and a new chance at life.
