Be warned of these types of ‘Shaykhs’:
1. The non-Shaykh Shaykh - the non-scholar preacher who doesn’t know his place and gets involved in academic discussions and complicated issues that he doesn’t have the study or research background for.
2. The exploitative Shaykh - who uses you for his own ego or personal objectives. He’s not working in your best interest, rather his own or his organization’s. This often leads to either be spiritual, personal or organizational abuse.
3. The stray Shaykh - has views that go outside ijmā’ on basic issues, or has a reputation for against consensus and/or the vast majority of scholarship. An even worse variation is the one who does all this but then claims ‘his’ views are the only correct ones.
4. The ‘online’ Shaykh - random person online who you don’t know anything about and has no real presence in their community. You don’t know their educational background, and neither do you know whether they actually deal with real people and issues in the community.
May Allah rectify our intentions and actions, and make us among those who do not speak without knowledge, and whose actions match their knowledge.
Some of the spectacular views of both Masjids captured during my auspicious journey to the Sacred lands. Will be sharing some educational videos about the ziyarats.

@ibn_shabbir Indeed I vividly remember him during Darul Uloom days. He used to come to my room often and can never forget his smiles. We were fortunate to have participated at his janazah in 1999. I was 14 at the time. May Allah elevate his status in jannah, Ameen.
